Pet care experience
I have owned and loved dogs my entire life. I currently have one dog that I have trained extensively and has a lot of fun in my pet friendly office. I live on a horse farm and have a lot of experience working with horses and dogs. I have one farm cat that occasionally stays with me and she is very friendly and does not mind dogs. I have house/pet/farm sat countless times over the last 10 years. I enjoy working with animals and providing quality care to pets while their owners are away. I have also administered intensive medical treatment to an aged and sick cat for extended periods of time including medication administration and checking vitals. I would like to know if the dog is well behaved off a leash or has any tendencies to run away. I also would like to know if the dog has any anxieties or tendencies toward aggression. It's not a deal-breaker, I just need to be equipped to handle any situation and avoid distress to any dog if possible. Generally, dogs need to be crate trained if they will be boarded in my home. If staying at owners' house, it is up to their discretion on kenneling.
A typical day
A tired dog is a good dog! Dogs not only need physical exercise, they need mental stimulation and challenges in order to keep out of trouble. My dog loves playing fetch and swimming in the nearby creek. If the dog is not able to mind off a leash, leashed walks are very enjoyable around the neighborhood or in a park.
