Punctual.Home Full-Time.Large Yard!

Pet care experience

Hi, my name is Holly and I'm an actor in New York City. Because acting allows for a flexible schedule, I am available during hours when pet owners are normally at work. I have grown up with dogs and cats for the past 27 years of my life. Our pets have always been considered to be part of the family - yes, this means Christmas stockings filled with doggie bones, birthday bandanas, and lots of custom dog memorabilia around the house. I'm always eager to visit home because I give my mom's pups (Australian Shepherd & Australian Shepherd Border Collie mix) infinite cuddles! I have always wanted a dog of my own but know that it is a huge responsibility and financial investment. I traveled a lot in 2017 and knew it just wasn't the right time for my boyfriend and I to welcome a pup into the equation. I want to be able to fully commit to my fur baby and give him all the attention he requires. This translates to the one-on-one time I will provide for your dog. I do not walk multiple dogs at a time (unless the owner has more than one dog and requests to do so). I want to provide quality service to my clients while ensuring their dog receives my undivided attention. If I sound like the dog walker you've been searching for, then I'd love to spoil your precious puppy with love! I believe a great dog walker must be reliable, punctual, responsible, considerate, affectionate toward animals, personable toward clients, and communicative to each person he/she encounters during the job. I work well with rescue dogs as my mom's 13 year old Australian Shepherd Border Collie mix, Remi, was saved from an abusive and neglectful situation. When we got him he flinched constantly as if someone was going to hit him, he was noticeably thin, and terrified of thunderstorms. We have taken the time to care for his special needs and he has adapted to his new home wonderfully as a result. My mom's other dog, Ellie, is an 11 year old Australian Shepherd and is high energy/very athletic. She suffers from chronic back issues which creates a lot of pent up energy. Because of this I have gained experience in handling high strung, energetic, rambunctious dogs. Ellie is deaf and unfortunately has many allergies. I have worked with her by learning sign language signals and provide her with the proper medication doses to treat her allergies when needed. She's our little special needs pup and we love her just the same! When I'm not caring for your dog, I can be found cooking up clean eating recipes, catching up on the newest psychological true crime documentary, dancing at a live music event, working on my newest crocheting hobby and sitting with my meditation practice. I feel most connected to my recent journey through Tanzania, Africa. It was unlike any experience I've known, which allowed for personal growth and a better understanding for the beauty of other cultures. I also saw some adorable pups living in rural villages which was really cool!

Holly was great! She took wonderful care of my pup during a 5 day trip. She was communicative, sent lots of pictures during the stay and was conscientious with care instructions in our meet+greet as well as drop off. My dog came back very happy!

Holly is everything we are looking for in a dog walker/sitter. We left our sweet puppy with her 2 days in a row from 8am-6pm. We received constant updates and photographs. Her home is a nice space for Riley to stay and when Riley returned to us she was tired after all her long walks. We will definitely be using Holly again!

Wylie was immediately comfortable with Holly and Mike at the meet & greet and made himself at home! Holly was super friendly and professional and made sure she had all pertinent information needed. She obviously loves dogs and Wylie could definitely tell as he took to her right away. At his doggy daycare stay we got lots of adorable photos of him chillin as well as outside enjoying the day! Went outside multiple times including an awesome long walk, which I know he appreciated. So excited to have found Holly!

Information Holly S. would like to know about your pet

Before dog sitting, I would appreciate knowing the following about your pooch: -fears/phobias (vacuum, steps, gender, etc.) if any -temperament (energetic, docile, timid, etc.) -behavior around other dogs (friendly, aggressive, apprehensive, etc.) -medication needed (tick/flea, prednisone, etc.) if any -special needs/requests

A typical day

I am a short 10 minute walk to Prospect Park. If you would like, I would be happy to take your dog on a stroll through the park. I also have a spacious, fenced backyard for your dog to relax, play, and sniff around. As stated above, I will be caring for your dog exclusively during our walks, day care, drop in visits, and over night boarding. I believe one-on-one time with animals is truly the best way to build trust and form life long friendships.
