Home away from home!

Pet care experience

Hello! Allow me to introduce myself, My name is Hilary and I am more than excited to provide a safe, loving environment for your dog while you're away! Dogs/cats have always had a soft spot in my heart. I have worked in many animal fields from behavioral training, service dog basic training, and veterinary first aid. I have also had the opportunity of providing years of foster care through a trusted few rescue organizations, having worked with a pitbull alliance group and took in reactive, abused bully breeds in able to rehabilitate their severely traumatized mental state, and find them homes with loving, patient families. It is something that brings me more joy than anything I have experienced. I've studied dog psychology and body language, holistic nutrition and holistic medicine for 6 years. I take an animals life in very high regard and show each and every one with the same amount of love, patience and respect. I can provide an active environment for those looking to find sitting for their more active companion, or a quieter, easy going environment for those who are more timid and tend to like the couch more than the hustle and bustle of the outdoors. With my home being equipped with a clean, moderately sized, fenced back yard and front yard, it provides a perfect place for fetch and sun bathing. Your dog will never be left unattended while outside under any circumstance. I own one dog named Merlin and he is a such a special boy. He's been through the ringer and has had a rough past, and he has blossomed into one of the best dogs I've ever had the privilege of owning. He has had extensive therapy dog training, allowing him into hospitals and care homes. As he ages, he is placing more boundaries around his space, but as with any new dog coming into any persons home, time is needed for adjustment and warm up. I have full confidence in him and his behavior/training. He loves to play tag, enjoys a good game of tug and when he's feeling up to it, he loves a good wrestle even with his large breed friends. Merlin will surely bring a smile to your face upon meeting him.

Hillary was excellent. She kept us updated throughout our dogs stay. She helped with medical information and kept our dog comfortable. We would highly recommend her for your pet and will use her again!

Hilary did an amazing job while in custody of my pup. She worked with him on a feeding schedule and gave him a lot of exercise. He lost weight while with her and as a result, is calmer and a better behaved dog. She taught me a lot about his dietary needs vs his wants and I appreciate the knowledge.

Mighty stayed with Hilary over three nights while we were away for a weekend. We had a meet and greet earlier in the week and knew our pup would be in good hands. We were updated with photos and videos which we loved, and Hilary managed and kept us updated about some brief GI issues Mighty had. We will definitely be booking again next time we are out of town.

Safety, trust & environment

I firmly believe in balance, calmness and communication when it comes to any dog/cat. Working with animals for as long as I have, has taught me that when sharing space confidently and with emotional balance, dogs (and cats) can adapt quicker to a stranger in their midst, which in turn creates trust and a smooth transition. Safety is always my top priority, so play time amongst all pets, including my own will always be supervised, no matter how well they get along. I always recommend a crate or secure holding pen to be brought with your pet in the event that I need to leave the house for a short period, so I may safely separate the dogs in their own comfortable spaces. My own dog has become one of the most important lives I care for in my day to day, his health, mental and physical wellness are my top priority, and he is treated as apart of my family. This extends to how I view any pet that I have the opportunity to care for.

Information Hilary W. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences. I would like to know of any behavioral issues, If they are housebroken and leash trained, reactive or vocal when left alone. Also likes and dislikes, fears and boundaries. Dogs have their individual personalities just like people, so I would expect nothing less. **At this time I cannot provide care for dogs with known separation anxiety that results in destruction of the home.**

A typical day

I live about a 30 minute walk from the Boise foothills/Camel Back park where I frequent 2-3 (4-5 mile) walks a day. The trail systems are wonderful with so many sights and smells for my canine residents! It’s never a dull moment and there’s always more to explore. Any sleeping arrangements are by owners request. I can accommodate a crate, dog bed, ect. Wherever your pet feels the most comfortable.

My schedule is currently open! I have quite a bit of free time to put into providing exceptional services for my clients and their owners. :::Some Sitter Policies::: **Please read policies below before booking, let me know if you have any questions!** **Rate Policy: Rates listed are for 24 hour periods, beginning at the time of drop off. Ex: drop off at 10am Monday means pick up at 10am Tuesday. Beyond that 24 hour window will incur a daycare charge, shown as a one time adjustment on the booking screen. (Accommodations can be made if communicated to me at a reasonable notice, I know life can get sticky sometimes!) **Flea Policy: If fleas are found on your pet (proof will be required on my end) they will be given an approved, effective flea preventative and a flea bath at the owners expense. If you refuse the policy rules on fleas, you must arrange for your pet to be picked up immediately or make alternate care arrangements. I cannot keep pets with fleas in my home as my dog Merlin has a severe flea allergy and it puts other guests at risk.
