Hershel would clean up the dog poo and play with my grandmother's Schnauzer and sheltie, as my grandma was too old to play with them. Her Schnauzer simply LOVED Hershel, and would immediately run outside as soon as we got there. (Hershel went out back first to tend to the yard.) The poor doggy still runs out there when I show up, hoping Hershel will be there : ( My dog adores him as well but it took a while because she is very shy. Hershel got on all fours, to be on her level, and handed her a treat, making her trust and be comfortable around him. After that, she wouldn't leave him alone! She always jumped up on his lap and was so happy to see him. He isn't just an animal lover; he is so compassionate and dedicated and will go above and beyond to make an animal happy or make sure the animal is safe. He has rescued many dogs and every time I see him with one, its pure magic and love. This is a person who truly cares about animals and anyone would be more than lucky to have him care for their pets.
