Hi, I'm Helena! I'm a college graduate from the University of Vermont recently relocated to SLC. I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, but I’m not currently able to have a dog of my own, so I’d love to hang out with yours (cats also very welcome)! I’m a former veterinary tech for a renowned animal hospital in Vermont and have the ability to administer medications including subQ injections, such as insulin. My family has had both cats and dogs over the past 20 years, and I currently have a cat of my own whom I adore. I’ve been caring for pets of friends, family, and community members since early childhood. I’m very active and love to take pups out with me on hikes or walks in the woods if they do well on or off leash. I have a multi-dog, non-tangle leash I like to use when walking with multiple dogs. I love a cuddle buddy, so I have no problem with pets on furniture if they’re allowed at home - I will respect the rules you follow at home so as not to cause confusion for your pet.

Helena was great at giving regular updates of my pooch and took good care of the house. When my dog gives an extra excitable greeting (like she does with Helena), I know that she was in good hands!

Helena is amazing! She watched our 2 year old golden in our home for a long weekend. She sent lots of pictures to keep us updated and took our dog on adventures to escape the heat and still get some exercise. We felt confident the whole time thanks to her updates and will totally be rebooking for future trips. Highly recommend.
Helena house sat our dog for a week while we were away. He was well taken care of and happy when we returned, and photo updates were very much appreciated. Helena did a great job taking care of the house as well and tidying up. Thank you!

I have a fenced in yard with tons of space to play. I live in a quiet, walkable neighborhood with lots of side streets for long walks. My house is very pet-safe, as I have a super mischievous cat that loves to eat things. If your dog isn’t keen on cats, that’s fine, as my cat pretty much spends most of his days outside or keeps to himself.

A typical day
Hiking, walking, running, swimming, camping, backpacking, ski touring, window shopping around town…I just like to get outside as much as possible, and that changes with the seasons.

Availability
I work remotely as a wellness coach and pick up evening restaurant serving shifts a couple times per week. I’m usually home during the day sparing a hike, trip to the gym, or errand run. On the nights I serve, I’m gone approximately 4:30-9:30. I love taking pups with me on errands if they do well in the car.
