Happy Hounds in Hackney! (ha see what I did there)
Pet care experience
To say that I love dogs is an understatement! : ) I grew up on a large dairy farm with many animals - sheep, cattle, pigs, chickens, horses - and a number of dogs, so I am accustomed to and love being around animals. My grandfather was a sheepdog trainer and we had amazing, intelligent Collies for shepherding. We also always had a Jack Russell Terrier, and since living in London, I've owned three JRTs myself. At present however, I do not have a dog of my own, but as you can see from the photo gallery, I board and dog-sit several dogs. I'm used to the trials and tribulations of having an un-neutered male dog. I also have experience of owning a very popular stud. I have a special place in my heart for daschunds and jack russell terriers. As long as your dog is housetrained and well behaved, they are welcome in my home - however, I live in a very tiny house - so I can only have small dogs to stay. In the case of caring for your dog/s in your own home, I am able to accommodate much bigger dogs of course. Being located in Hackney Central means that I am well situated for loads of great dog walking parks such as London Fields, Hackney Downs, Millfields, Hackney Marshes and Walthamstow Marshes. I am very near two train stations and several bus routes, which makes dropping off your dog really convenient. To reiterate - I'm very sorry but I do NOT look after dogs that are not TOTALLY housetrained in my own home. However, I am willing to look after puppies that are not totally housetrained in the owner's own home. I do NOT look after bulldogs/pugs/French bulldogs/any dog that has been genetically modified to have no nose and/or tail. I do NOT look after cats in my home, but I am willing to housesit cats in the owner's own home, or visit to feed cats in the owner's own home.
Reviews
Absolute star if I could give Helen more than five stars I would. Wolfe loves staying with Helen, she is always well looked after, I never have to worry.
We absolutely love Helen as a dog sitter and despite being away on holiday for a few weeks we knew our boy had a great time. Helen is super helpful and shares a ton of pictures of their ventures together.
Bhí am crua orm ag iarraidh uirthi teacht ar ais abhaile liom! Faighte go leor nuashonruithe agus pictiúir ?

I have a totally secure back yard, (with a dog flap entrance if your dog knows how to use one - otherwise, they can use the human door!) and I have a sunny roof terrace that dogs love to sun-bathe on when relaxing at home - check photo-gallery to see. When out and about I keep dogs on their lead, unless specifically asked to let them off. Happy to have a crate if you have a crate-trained dog. Also happy to follow any specific dog-related requirements to the letter - I want you to feel totally at ease with leaving your canine family member in my care. I am DBS certified and have several years' experience of caring for other peoples' pets, as well as my own.

Information Helen L. would like to know about your pet
- Number one on the info list is food - what is and isn't allowed, what time for meals, portion sizes and so on. And for treats - how many, how often, what for. - If your dog has any allergies or other health needs, please supply written instructions & don't forget any medication! - When out and about, dogs can be nervous about a variety of things - having their collar and lead put on, other dogs, dogs of a specific size or breed, traffic, the dark, loud noises, skateboards & rollerskates, getting on public transport, bikes & scooters - you name it, the list is endless. Let me know which factors cause your dog stress, so I can aim to minimise it when outside. - Any other quirks or needs, just let me know.
A typical day
A dog's idea of fun is likely to vary from dog to dog - so if your dog likes to chase after a ball, that's what we'll be doing, if it likes to play tug - that's what we'll be doing, it it likes to watch dog TV - that's what we'll be doing, if it likes to go for long walks - that's what we'll be doing, if it likes belly rubs, or to be tickled behind the ear, or in that place that makes its legs wobble - that's what we'll be doing! Whatever makes your dog happy - interspersed, of course, with R&R time on the sofa/beanbag!
