Family Boarding Environment 😊❤️

Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Helen Castillo. I am the owner of Your Dog’s Favorite Vacation Spot, LLC ❤️ For those of you who do not know me, I have experience with all types of dogs and have dedicated my life to volunteering in animal rescues to help dogs in need. Have tons of references who will tell you, that I love all babies staying with me as if they were my own. 😊 We live in Powder Springs with my 8-year-old daughter, 3 older pups, and 3 cats ranging from 5 months old to 16 years old. In my home, we love to have doggy guests!! We provide reasonable rates, and in most cases less than the cost of boarding at an excellent facility. When staying with us, I can assure you they will have so much fun here, and lots more one-on-one cuddles and playtime. We have a kennel license and are also fully insured. All pups have to be up to date on all their vaccines. We also require a meet and greet before staying with us. To make sure we are the perfect fit for you and your baby! All babies need to be dog, cat, and kid-friendly. I can't wait to meet you and your pup!! Interested in booking with me? Please Read This Very Important Information Below: *** We are not able to keep dogs with signs of aggression in our home. Your pup must be up-to-date on all vet-recommended vaccines, free of fleas and ticks, and cannot have any contagious illnesses including kennel cough and intestinal parasites. This is very important, and thank you for understanding. ***I am happy to take bigger pups but please keep in mind that I cannot take high-energy dogs, or any dogs that have aggression towards cats or small pups. CONTACT ME TO SET A MEET 'N GREET: I look forward to meeting your baby! ONCE YOU BOOK: When you drop off your pup, please bring a note with any detailed feeding/medicine instructions and other details you want me to know. Also, I'd like to have a local emergency contact (relative/friend who loves your pet), and vet information. Please bring food and any special treats. There are plenty of toys, and food/water bowls here, so no need to bring these items. If they have a unique bed that they love, feel free to pack it. If your pup has separation anxiety, it may be helpful to pack a piece of clothing or sheet with your scent and your home's scent. Thank you for taking the time to read all about Your Dog's Favorite Vacation Spot LLC ❤️

Helen does a wonderful job taking care of our three babies. She is very attentive and thoughtful, sending photos to keep us updated. Her home is pet friendly with safe outdoor space which is a priority to me. I can’t recommend Helen enough.

I was hesitant to book at ROVER because I have small young dogs. Helen was very quick to respond before a holiday weekend to accommodate my two chihuahuas. She was professional and insisted on all records and also made sure my dogs would fit in with her animals and the dogs she was boarding at the time. My dogs were comfortable with her and the other animals within minutes. I got tons of photos and videos throughout their stay with her. She treated my dogs like royalty and a part of her family. When I picked the dogs up, they were so clean, calm and just overall so happy. Helen is truly a gem. I will definitely trust her and her family with the next booking!

There is a HUGE part of me that would love to keep Helen as a secret so that I could have her all to myself. But please trust me when I tell you, your dog deserves all the love they’ll get when they stay at her home - ALL of it - so I’m going to brag about our experience with her. We booked a trip to see our best friends in England over the holidays. 10 days in Europe for Christmas sounds so perfect….except for the fact that we had to leave our other daughter behind. Penny is our spoiled-to-the-core 9 year old Goldendoodle. We don’t like leaving her at any time of the year but at Christmas just seems sacreligious. My in-laws, who normally keep Penny, were going to be out of town, so it was off to Rover I went…..looking for the perfect host for our baby. And I struck gold. Helen is the sweetest human being on the planet. She has a deep, sincere and unconditional love for pets. We met her about 2 months prior to our departure. When we arrived at her house, I just knew. She had her 3 fur babies and 2 others and there was no chaos. The dogs played well together; and that’s one thing she will tell you up front she is firm about - they have to be able to co-exist together. She works from home and she had dog beds all around her desk, so those who prefer to stay close to the human (like Penny) could be with her if they wanted to. While we were gone, we received 3-6 pictures every day, along with an update of how Penny was doing. The first couple of days she wasn’t eating, which we anticipated as she always does this even when she travels with us. We told Helen about it beforehand….but Helen was prepared. She sprinkled a little bit of good stuff (FreshPet) on Penny’s food and I know that Penny didn’t skip a meal after that. We also received pictures of a birthday celebration Helen had for another pupper she was keeping, complete with dog friendly cupcakes and party hats. In the pictures Helen sent us, Penny just looked happy. Like she was smiling. And in some pictures, she just looked content while she rested peacefully. A true sign that Penny felt loved and had fun when we got back - she moped for 3 days. Literally moped. She missed Helen, her daughter, her family that was there and her new doggo friends. Helen, her home and her family are so loving. It was a wonderful feeling to not have to truly worry about Penny while we were away. Of course we missed her terribly, but we were not concerned about her at all because we knew she was getting the love she needed. Thank you, Helen and Nati, and your brother and sister, for being so sweet and kind to our baby.

Helen and her daughter took wonderful care of our Millie over Christmas! I was an anxious mama having to leave our young puppy for the holidays. After meeting Helen and her daughter and seeing their beautiful, clean, pet-friendly home I felt more reassured. During her stay, we received frequent pictures and a few videos showing Millie having a wonderful time with her new friends! Millie enjoyed playing outdoors and cuddling indoors. Helen spoiled her with homemade, healthy treats and even a toy on Christmas! We couldn't have been happier with this Rover experience! We will be requesting a stay with Helen again in the future!

I have a fully fenced yard and have three friendly pups. I have fostered for a nonprofit rescue since before I had my personal babies so they are super friendly and used to puppies going in and out. Everyone eats separately to avoid upset tummies, and I spend time with them to ensure they get the love and attention they need. I want all babies who stay with us to feel excited about returning.

Information Helen C. would like to know about your pet

Good with cats, children, and other dogs? Is your dog crate-trained? House trained? Behavioral issues (such as previous bite incidents or destructive behavior)? Are there any anxiety issues and/or medication requirements? What are the words/phrases/commands used in your home so that I can carry them over in my home? Where does your dog sleep each night?

A typical day

I love for my babies and pet-sitting babies to feel like they are doing something in their day. We will spend time outside, running, playing fetch, and sunbathing. Some babies that stay with me are more about relaxation which is great! I put beds on the deck so they can lay and take in the sun and fresh air. I have a ton of shade so they won't be overheated. Then we can go back inside for some downtime so they don't feel overwhelmed. Cuddles are a huge plus in our home so any baby that loves to cuddle while doing a movie night is perfect! At bedtime, they are welcome to sleep with any family member in my home that they want or sleep in a crate if that is what they prefer. I try to make their stay feel like they are being spoiled, loved, and with no stress.
