Pet care experience
I’ve taken care of pets my entire life. I grew up with labs, cats, sheep, chickens, horses, really the whole gambit. I’ve worked with cats that don’t get a long, and dogs that need space on walks. I’ve learned to work with pets at the level they’re at. I really enjoy the company of animals, but do not currently have the time or resources to support one myself full-time. However, this doesn’t mean I don’t want them in my life. I’m really good with pets of all kinds and personalities, as I’ve lived with them my whole life. I’m happy to take the time to get to know a shy, hesitant type or run around with a jumping bean, energizer bunny sort of pet.

Heidi was great with our 10 week old puppy and 12 yr old dog. She spent a few hours doggy sitting and they were both sad to see her leave. The pup curled up and slept on her lap as happy as could be. Nicely done!

I am happy to come to a clients house/property to spend time with, feed, walk, or supervise their pet. I will be sure to get clear expectations and instructions from the client prior to scheduling a visit. I’ve pet sat and house sat for my neighbors for many years, and we usually have an introductory visit that allows me to see the way they do things normally so I can have a clear idea of their expectations when I’m sitting.

A typical day
Depending on what your pet needs I’m happy to get everyone outside to explore and stretch the legs. I do my best to encourage good behavior and use the techniques you’ve been using with your pets to provide consistency in direction.

Availability
I’m currently a full-time medical student looking for either weekend or weekday shifts. Would be interested in multiple days of house/pet sitting in the evenings, but would need to confirm availability for each individual stay. Feel free to reach out even if my dates aren’t open. I’m more protective of my weekdays due to working in clinics during the week, but please don’t hesitate to ask! My schedule isn’t as regular as I’d like, but it means i may be available at unique/odd times during the week.
