Pet care experience
I have been a pet owner (rabbits, cats and dogs) since 1996. I am currently without a pet of my own and am interested in filling that void by pet sitting and/or dog walking. I have a lot of experience pet sitting for friends and even grab my friends' dogs for a hike just for the fun of it. I am very intuitive when it comes to animals and I understand the importance of honoring the routines that pets are used to. I believe in providing a calm, loving environment that incorporates exercise, playing or quiet if that is what a pet needs. Each pet has different needs and I am happy to provide what is best for each pet. Flexibility is a must in providing pet care.

Heidi was lovely! Communication was great, we did a phone meeting greet and she asked all the right questions. The dogs felt completely at ease with her, and had the best daycare ever! When I picked them up they were exhausted from all the fun that they had had!!!
Heidi was awesome. Our spoiled brat gave her a run for her money and she won him over. She was accommodating and great in every way. We have a senior dog that is not used to being left and she totally made it work. I cannot speak highly enough of Heidi.
Heidi was great! She took wonderful care of Winnie and made us feel very comfortable about leaving Winnie in her care. She’s got a great yard for playful pups and a nearby trail for walks. Winnie came back exhausted which is a sign of a great time! Thanks, Heidi!
Heidi is awesome. She was very accommodating and did a great job taking care of our sweet old girl. She has a great house for a pet sitting.

I have no breed preferences. I think the important things to know about a dog is 1) what their exercise needs are, 2) how they interact with other dogs and humans they don't know, 3) are they good with children, 4) are they able to go on walks off-leash or do they need to remain on a leash, 5) dietary needs, 6) anxiety issues, 7) any prescriptions taken or health issues, 8) what their average daily routine is.
A typical day
I believe tailoring the exercise based on the animal's needs and routine. I am an avid hiker and can take pets out on the trails for really long hikes on or off leash. If an animal loves to swim, we can go to the lakes or river for a swim; if fetching is what the animal needs I can throw the ball for them. If they enjoy playing with other animals, we can go to the dog park. If the animal doesn't do well around other animals, we can do a leash walk around the neighborhood if that is what preferred. I will base the exercise activity on what each individual animal needs and is used to.
