They'll be begging to visit again!

Pet care experience

*Please read our entire profile (it has a lot of important info!), and always feel free to shoot us any questions. Thanks! *Please bring a regular leash for your dog; NO retractable leashes. WE ARE SO SO SO sad to say that we are finally moving. We have had so much fun getting to know you and your pups, and having them stay with us. We have met some wonderful people and amazing dogs, and we would like to say thank you so much for everything over the years, and that we are really going to miss this. We may continue dog boarding in the bay area (please contact for info), but it might have to be after we are more settled in; plans for the future are still up in the air. Thank you to all of our regulars again, and we hope to see you in the future! We are Heidi and Kelvin and we love your dogs just as much as we love our own! We make sure your dog's time with us is a vacation. Our dogs are able to relax on the couch, hang out, or make new puppy friends or enjoy a run around the backyard all day. Heidi works from home, towards becoming a certified dog trainer, so treats and positive reinforcement are always available! We go to the dog park often, take walks at least three times a day, and shower our guests with all the love they can handle. We have some experience with behavioral issues, so please let us know if your dog falls into this category so that we can be prepared. Our priority is the safety and happiness of all our guests; all puppy interactions are closely supervised, whether indoor or out. We try to stick closely to your dog's daily routine, and do our best to minimize stress. You know your dog best, so please don't hesitate to let us know how to make your pup's stay go perfectly. We have a huge secure backyard for our dogs to run around in. We have two of our own dogs, a 2.5 year old Border Collie and a 5 year old Beagle who love puppy play time and are well-behaved! Our house is clean and puppy-proof (especially with our hound roaming around the house). Your dog will enjoy lots of love, and fun and dedicated care. Dogs go out every 2-3 hours for a potty break, or as needed. We are extremely flexible in drop-off and pick-up dates, and make every effort to fit your busy schedule. We would love to care for your furry children while you are away or busy! Please remember that our house is still our home. That means we spend a lot of time keeping it clean, including wiping our pups' feet; also please be respectful of our neighbors! We can administer flea and ear drops, brush teeth, and pills. We are not comfortable with needles. *ALL DOGS MUST BE ON FLEA MEDICATION, heart worm, UTD on shots, and have had a clean fecal test in the past 3 months. How this works: Meet-and-greet: Typically 20-30 minutes long, this is a time for all of us to get to know each other, assess if your dog will be a good fit at our home (and us a good fit for you), and for you to feel comfortable about leaving your pups with us. You can see where your pup will be staying, meet Sparky and Marlowe, and ask any questions you may have. Reservations: Book your reservation on DogVacay with us fast! Especially during holidays, we tend to fill up quickly. Drop-offs: When you have arrived, please message or call us, so that we can keep our dogs inside. Your pup may be nervous and know that something is up, and barking dogs won't help. If you would like to meet Sparky & Marlowe, please schedule a meet and greet, or you can wait until pick up. After you are on the road and they've settled in, we let the puppy activities commence! Please bring their food, bowls, leash (NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES), dog poop bags, and their bed/blanket/crate, however they are comfortable sleeping. Their stay: We make sure to be present whenever pups are interacting and playing together. Everyone sleeps inside, however they are most comfortable. We do NOT allow dogs to stay in the backyard unsupervised. We usually feed dogs twice a day, morning and evening, but if your pup has a different feeding schedule, we are happy to accommodate. Water is available at all times. Watch your messages: we send daily pictures or updates! Your pup will receive cuddles, play time, and lots of love! Pick up: Please message or call us again when you have arrived. We will give you a full report on all the fun and activities your dog had. Policies: We charge $40/night for puppies under 1 year; we focus on socialization, house-training, and good manners (impulse control, jumping, pulling on the leash, etc) for puppies this young. We also charge a holiday rate of $40/night (puppies $45/night): Memorial Day: May 26 - May 29 4th of July: June 30 - July 4 Labor Day: September 1 - September 4 Thanksgiving: November 20 - November 26 Holiday season: $45/night (puppies $50/night): Christmas and New Years season: December 19-January 2 "Check-out" time is within 4 hours of your "check-in" time. Please note that we do charge $15 extra if your pup is picked up after his check-out time, and it will count as an extra daycare session*. *Does not apply to stays of 7 days or more.

I hate that my review is so late. Yet it must be said that heidi did an awesome job. I completely felt I was leaving my babies in good hands.

For the second time they took Millie and she was well taken care of and it was a great experience for everyone. Thank you again for taking her over the Christmas holiday.

Great experience. I was too worried to take my dog to a kennel/dog hotel because my dog had very recently gone completely blind. Having my dog stay with Heidi put me at ease and I loved the daily pictures. It's definitely more expensive than a kennel (especially with the holiday rates) but it was worth it for my peace of mind.

Heidi took care of my geriatric senior dog over the holidays and I couldn't be more grateful. I was very nervous about leaving my dog for a week but Heidi took care of everything including medication and sent daily photos. I would definitely trust her again to watch Roxy. She was worried that Roxy lost weight with her but she actually gained a pound which is a good thing! Thank you :)

Information Heidi P. would like to know about your pet

Before your stay, we would appreciate if you could tell us as much as you can with these questions: Is your dog up-to-date on all vaccinations (the 5-in-1 DAP & parvovirus, and rabies), Boardatella, and flea medication? What kind of flea medication is your dog on (all dogs MUST be on flea medication)? Is your dog spayed or neutered? Is your dog more of a social butterfly, or is he more independent? Does your dog like to play with and interact with all dogs, or can he be picky about who he plays with? What does your dog do at home when you are away? Where does he stay, or does he get the run of the house? How does your dog do when left alone? Is this his first time staying somewhere without you? Can we take your dog to an unfenced dog park, or will he bolt? We do have a 50 ft. lead that has worked really well for those who may be unreliable; we can also go to another fenced dog park. Is your dog allergic to anything? Is your dog house trained? Does he have a tendency to mark around the house? Does your dog have any special behaviors (ex. digging, humping, possessive over special toys)? What does a regular day look like for your dog?

A typical day

We have morning, afternoon, and evening walks around our quiet neighborhood for at least 20 minutes each. We are within walking distance from 2 big parks, one large grass field and one dog park. We love playing fetch, frisbee, and cuddling! We make sure each dog is getting enough exercise for their needs, no matter if they are having quiet time in their crate, hanging out in the living room, or playing in the backyard. We devote our mornings and evenings to playing with and spending time with the dogs. In the afternoon, we take the dogs out for a walk and supervise their playtime with their puppy friends. We go out to the dog park (or just out) every day. There is an unfenced dog park a 10 minute walk from our house, or a fenced dog park a 5 minute drive from our house.
