Heather takes great care of my pet squirrels and birds I keep. They warmed up to her rather quickly. She is also very talented with cats, reptiles, chickens and anything else you may keep. Thank you Heather, pet owners appreciate caring individuals like yourself to trust our beloved family members.

I love all animals!

I’ve always felt drawn to animals, and I find dogs particularly irresistible. I love their jovial nature and their excited curiosity about new people. Relating to dogs comes naturally for me, and I usually stop and say hello to dogs I meet in public (with their owner’s permission, of course!).

My husband and I currently have an Australian Cattle Dog mix (and a cat), but I’ve lived with a Pit Bull mix ...

What Heather would like to know about your dog

With new clients, I like to start with a phone conversation to learn more about your pet and your expectations. I’ll ask questions about your dog’s personality, how he interacts with new humans and other dogs, if there are any special contingencies to be aware of, such as medications or foods and situations to avoid. If we feel your dog would do well staying at my home, we should host a meet-and-greet so our two dogs can get to know each other before their first slumber party. If you would feel more comfortable showing me around your home and giving me a tour of what’s needed while you’re away, I’m happy to come by and visit. Of course, I’m also available at any time to answer any questions you may have about me and my experience pet-sitting.

When Heather watches your pet

If your dog is staying with me, we’ll spent plenty of time in the backyard enjoying the fresh air and (hopefully) sunshine, but we’ll make sure to get out and explore the neighborhood as well. If I’m pet-sitting at your place, I’ll center everything around meals and playtime. Each visit will include a meal or treats, a walk outdoors or a trip to your nearby dog park, and some quality petting and snuggle time. I also make sure to send photos and updates with each visit so you know your dog is having a safe, fun time while you’re away.
