Animal Lover - Rescue Addict

Pet care experience

I am a mom of 3 children (high school and middle school), and 2 rescue dogs. We have a 9 year old black lab mix named Indy, and a 9 year old Chihuahua named Franklin. We live downtown Lake Geneva, and my dogs love their daily morning walks. I have been walking dogs on Rover for over 3 years now, and love getting to know you and your pet. We work on walking skills during each visit...especially for puppies who love to pull! Each visit is tailored to your needs and wants with your dog or cat. Some dogs enjoy long and slow walks, while others prefer a quick in and out potty break. I am also flexible with cats as some love attention, and others hide the entire time I’m there! I have a flexible schedule and typically walk dogs/hang out with cats from 10 am - 2:30 pm during the weekdays. I am available during alternate times and the weekends, as needed. I have a network of other dog walkers (on Rover), that I can recommend if I’m unable to help. Just send me a message and I’ll gladly connect you! Still a bit nervous about having someone come into your house to watch your fur baby? I would be too, so here is just a little more about me…I own a baby and beach gear rental business, Lake Geneva Genie, and I deliver to houses/rentals/hotels all around the area. I really enjoy helping others while on vacation. Our small community means a lot to me, and I like to be involved. I am also the PTO President of Lake Geneva Middle School and a member of Visit Lake Geneva. I look forward to hearing from you about your fur baby’s needs.

Heather was amazing. She along with the rest of her family loved and treated Harley as if he was their own. He came back very happy which made me happy. This is a dog loving household and highly recommended her.

Heather is a treasure! I needed VERY last minute dog walking and she came to the rescue! She came during a snowstorm too which gave me even more PEACE of mind! She is thorough, on time, and takes the best pictures of my pet! Highly recommend!

Heather was incredible! We knew as soon as we met her that she’d be great with our pups and take great care of them. She was always very responsive and sent us pictures while our pups were at her house. We would definitely recommend her to others and use her again in the future.

Safety, trust & environment

When on walks or drop-in visits, I will always keep your pet on a leash, or keep a close eye on them if your yard is fenced. If your dog is not good with other dogs, I make sure we avoid them, go to the other side of the sidewalk, and distract your pup so we can continue on our walk. Each visit is tailored to your needs…if it is mealtime, I feed the dog/cat, take care of litter boxes, give love and treats, and refill water bowls.

A typical day

Every dog (or cat) is different! Some dogs could walk for miles, and others want a quick potty break, especially in the cold or extreme heat. If your dog isn't a fan of long walks, we hang out inside to play, or cuddle during the visit. Some cats love when I visit, and others don’t like to be seen! Basically, each visit is based on your pets' needs.
