Hello! I’m Heather! I guess I should start by saying that I absolutely LOVE dogs (and cats, too). I grew up with a dog, and almost everyone in my family has a dog, or multiple. I even wanted to get one this summer, but I realized I couldn’t afford one. It’s still a dream, but in the meantime I figured I could spend some time with other people’s dogs (: I have a lot of knowledge about dogs, including how to approach them, how to care for them, what to not feed them (and why), how to talk to them and listen to them as well. I have several books on breeds of dogs, simply just because I liked learning about them as a kid. I actually had wanted to be a vet before I got to college and realized how hard and expensive it was. I am currently attending UTSA, where I am a psychology major. I live in an apartment complex called Maverick Creek Villas right off campus. My complex is pet friendly and has has plenty of room for me to walk a dog. If your dog isn’t too shy around lots of people, I could even bring them to campus where they will definitely get a lot of exercise (and attention too), but of course only if my client approves beforehand. I’m very good with dogs. I wouldn’t say I’m a dog whisperer, but I do like to talk to them because they can be pretty good listeners. I’m most familiar with small dogs, since I grew up with them, but I also adore larger dogs. I have a car, and I’m quite familiar with the San Antonio area, especially the northwest part. I put 12 miles as my distance limit, but I’m also fine with going a little further if need be. I don’t have any classes on Tuesdays or Thursdays, so on those days I am available at basically any time. I’m also available all day on Sundays as well. For cats, I will admit I’m not nearly as familiar with as I am with dogs, but I still really like them. Also, one of my roommates has experience with cat sitting, so she’ll be able to give me advice and help me when necessary.
