My husband, daughter and I have lived in our home here in Rockland, MA, for over 12 years. We have a 20lb Boston Terrier, TinkerBelle, who just turned 9yrs old this past August. I have been walking dogs for over 8yrs now. I also started boarding family and friend's dogs about 15yrs ago. My TinkerBelle loves playing with other dogs and would love to make more friends! My daughter and husband love having other dogs to play with. ~ I always do meet and greets before any dog stay or visit I may have. I need to be sure our dogs are a good fit before inviting anyone new into our home. We will always meet in a public place neutral to the dogs. I would also like to meet your pet(s) before doing a drop-in visit or a walk. Even a dog who has met someone once, will need a moment to figure who the person is walking into your home. Safety first! ~ During doggy daycare, yes, I may/will have to leave my home briefly here and there to either walk another dog, pick my daughter up from school, etc. During these times, pets will be separated into different rooms with gates/doors, so there are no problems whilst I'm away. These moments shouldn't last more than 1hr. ~ Dog walking, your dog must be able to walk on a leash and not pull me down the street. Walks will last approximately 30mins. (Sometimes I will walk doggy daycare dogs, too, but walks will be shorter). ~ Dog boarding is fun! Lots of playing in the big backyard, making new doggy friends and playing fetch. Larger dogs (40+lbs) will sleep in my kitchen at night. Smaller dogs may sleep in a bed on my bedroom floor, if that is what they're used to. I do own one small crate, which can be used if need be, when multiple dogs are visiting, so they have a "safe place" to go. If you would like to bring a bed, or their crate, wonderful! Please do! Also bring something from home that smells like you so your fur baby doesn't miss you too much! (We also have a small, 17yr old cat, who hides all day long. She does not enjoy the company of dogs, not even our own, and loves the peace and quiet hiding in the basement. You, and your dog, will never see her. We never do!)
