We're passionate about great care!

Pet care experience

Hello – I’m Heather, David and I are a middle-aged, responsible, and trustworthy couple – who absolutely LOVE dogs! We are the proud parents of a wonderful 7 y.o. Cocker Spaniel. Her name is Daisy, and she means the world to us. In addition to our passion for dogs, this is a natural fit for us because of the amount of experience we have caring for them. We’ve been Rover sitters for a while now, and it’s been going great! We’re proud to have many repeat stays and a 5-star rating, so I guess we are on the right track! We are working professionals, but our schedules are very flexible. David works from home – and his schedule allows him the ability to devote as much time as necessary to Daisy – AND her visiting friends. I work nearby and am very involved on weekends and my days off. (I like to take lots of ‘doggie photos’!) It’s not about earning extra income as much as doing something we really enjoy! ((Note: Your pup will rarely be alone!)) We became Rover sitters when we realized a couple of things: Daisy could use some more “dog friends” in her life – and we have extra time on our hands. Combine the two, and we thought it would be a great idea to begin offering doggie daycare and boarding. Fortunately, we have plenty of time – and love to share! (We are at a point in our lives where our priorities have changed. With children grown, our careers on "auto-pilot", we’ve become homebodies.) From plenty of experience, we have come to truly understand dogs – and what it takes to make them happy. We also recognize and appreciate that every dog is different. Whether it be age, breed, temperament, etc., they all have their own unique personalities – and needs. (That’s what makes them special!) We do our best to accommodate them – to make sure that their tail is always wagging! We like to look at things from a ‘dog's perspective’. Once we get to know a pup, and what they desire, our goal is to spoil them! We want to provide everything they could want—or YOU could want for them (without being overbearing). Essentially, we believe in providing a balanced, nurturing environment – that is safe, secure, and comfortable. (Does it sound like I’m describing children's daycare? LOL! Well, that is sort of how we look at it!) We think of Daisy not only as a member of our family but our "baby". Nothing makes us happier than pampering her. And, when we open our home – we will extend the same love and attention to your baby! _______________________________________________________________________________ DETAILS – What your dog will find at his/her new ‘home away from home’ A Little More About Daisy We're sure your pup and Daisy will quickly become best friends! She’s an awesome playmate and she’s very friendly – with a "sweet" personality. She’s well-trained/well-behaved (not bossy), gets along with other dogs, and submits easily with dogs that are larger than her. She is playful and can be pretty energetic (can be a little overly-eager when "welcoming" visitors, but she settles down nicely after an enthusiastic greeting). About Pups That Stay With Us We normally host only 2 dogs at one time (3 is the maximum). Why? We believe in providing close attention. Additionally, whether your dog likes being with multiple dogs or prefers a little more solitude, we’ve found that the balance of a ‘small group’ typically works best. Our close supervision also makes sure everyone is always happy and getting along. About Our Home When your precious pooch is staying with us, they will enjoy the safety and security of a quiet home. David and I are usually alone when we’re at home, so your dog won’t have to worry about a lot of “strangers” coming around. We also don’t have children at home. No kids = More attention from us. Cozy, Safe, Comfortable On cold days, they can spend most of the day inside in a nice warm house. And on hot days, they will have a nice cool, air-conditioned house to kick back and relax in. We like to offer full roam of the house whenever possible. If they just want to take it easy, they can perch themselves in the window and watch the world go by. For fun-times inside, there are plenty of toys to go around! (To keep the fun going, we also get involved with inside “playtime”!) Then, when they are "worn out", they can curl up on the couch and take a peaceful snooze. Indoors or Outdoors – Here, it’s a Dog's World! The choice is up to them. Their time can be spent primarily outdoors or indoors, whichever they prefer. We have a secure, fully fenced-in backyard for them to enjoy – with plenty of room to run! Several supervised play/exercise periods are part of the standard daily routine. If they choose not to take part, that’s okay too. But, rest assured, even if your dog is a couch potato, we will offer gentle encouragement to spend some time outdoors – because we know a little fresh air and exercise is healthy and promotes well-being! Again, whether inside or out, close supervision is always a priority. About Leaving You’re Dog with Someone Else – We get it We completely understand the anxiety that can go along with leaving your precious pup with anybody (especially the first time). Stress is normal—for both your little girl or guy—and you. We understand that like people, dogs are social beings and do best when 'time alone' is kept to a minimum. However, we realize for most owners, it's a matter of having limited options, and you want to do what’s best for them. We've been thrilled to see the growing popularity of people opening their homes as dog-sitters, to dogs that might otherwise have to stay home alone or in a kennel. We feel it’s a great solution. And, it's a big reason we love opening our home. We can be with them when you aren’t able! Thanks – Hope to meet you soon! Heather and David

Heather and David were great. Very happy with Jax and Finn's care. They can be crazy little pups and they seemed to enjoy them. I recommend them!! I will use them again given the opportunity.

I can’t say good enough words about Heather & David taking care of our 8mo. puppy Luna. Our pup stayed with them for 4 nights and had a great time. Besides running around in theirs fenced yard, she was taken for a walks as well. I really enjoyed all the pictures sent out through out her stay reassuring me she is well taken care of. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs to board their dog. I will definitely used them in the future.

My Italian Greyhound had a lovely visit! Heather sent frequent photo updates, so I knew she was in good hands. Having Daisy there certainly put my dog at ease. I liked that I could bring all of my dog’s favorite beds and treats, and that she had access to soft couches and a big yard. I will definitely book again in the future!
