Professional, flexible & caring!

Pet care experience

Hi there, I'm Heather! I prioritize open communication and a tailored stay that your animal will fully enjoy. During any service with me, you will receive as many updates as you'd like (if not more!) and you will see your pet being cared for as if they were one of my own. As a pet owner, I truly understand the need to feel comfortable when leaving a pet with another, and how important it is to know that your pets needs are being met exactly how they should be. I look forward to meeting you and your pet, building a relationship, and providing them the service and care you both deserve. My schedule is very flexible and I am happy meet your needs to the absolute best of my ability! I have owned and cared for pets my entire life, specifically dogs, cats, small animals and even horses. Additionally, I volunteer for a non-profit dog rescue organization in the city. I am an animal lover that strives to provide the best quality of life for my animals, and your animals will receive no different! My pet at home is a two-year-old, twenty-pound pug named Wesley. He will be involved and certainly doing his best to befriend your animal (he is good with cats!) during any boarding or daycare stays at our home. My home is 1,500 sq. ft. with a yard fully enclosed by a 6 ft. high privacy fence. I share my home with my fiancé, as well as my stepdaughter half the time; both of them love animals as well and cannot wait to meet yours! We allow our dog on the beds and furniture, and offer many different toys around the house - Wesley will happily share! I am located in Creekwood Chappelle, across from green space and surrounded by many walking trails. A 5-minute drive or 20-minute walk away is the Paisley Off-Leash Dog Park, where there is two fenced parks: one for general use and one for small/shy dogs. If interested, I would be happy to take your pup(s) there for some great exercise! If there are any other services you are looking for or questions you have, don't hesitate to send me a message!

Amazing. I got such a detailed rover card. She genuinely cares about your pets! I would recommend Heather and will definitely use her in the future.

Heather is wonderful! She's very attentive, sends lots of cute photos, and my pup Odin is noticeably happier when I get home from work now that he isn't home by himself all day. Thank you Heather!

This was our first experience with Rover and we were super happy with Heather! We like the idea of the little report card and the pictures...made us feel like we were there with them! Heather was very friendly and took great care of our kiddos!

Information Heather L. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog is crate trained, allowed on furniture, and where they prefer to sleep. As well, please communicate their feeding routine (times & amounts), and activity level. I prefer small to medium size breeds as our house and yard may not be spacious enough for larger dog breeds. However, don't hesitate to ask questions if you are interested but your pup falls a little outside of the parameters I have laid out here!

A typical day

If staying at my home, we live across from a large (on-leash) park and have many walking trails in our neighbourhood. We frequent these areas with Wesley and would love to take your pup on walks there too! If walking from your home, I'm sure we can find some great spaces to walk through together. If possible and with your permission, I love off-leash parks for burning off energy, weather-permitting of course. If staying with me, we live five minutes from the Paisley Off-Leash Dog Park (large fenced off-leash park) and I would love to take them over there if you'd like! If walking from your home, please let me know if this is something you are interested in. I will need to know your dog's level of recall and off-leash experience if going to a dog park, especially if unfenced. When doing in-home visits, we will of course be going outside as much as possible with the weather. Your dog will have at least two bathroom breaks, including one when I arrive and one when I leave, and any more needed. Depending on your pup's energy level, I am happy to scale the visit from an all-out play-fest to a cuddle on the couch. Just let me know what you think your dog would like best while I am there!
