I raised two Labrador Retrievers and am proud of the experiences, training, and love that I provided them. I am a good, calm leader and I fully believe in the theory that “a tired dog is a happy dog”. My main focus in dog care is providing safe activities that promote physical and mental health, loving interaction, and life experiences. This includes anything from problem solving games, swimming, long hours of ball/toy fetching, leisurely rides in a bike cart, paddle boarding, free play at the dog park, snow fun, or slow walks in the forest. After a good day of fun, relaxing time by the fireplace, treats, nap time, and belly rubs on the couch are ways I show love and appreciation to my canine friends. I have experience in training young dogs, teaching new activities to dogs of all ages, and caring for senior pups. Heather and her pup Hansel were great! It was our first time leaving little Pino alone and she made us all feel at ease. They sent lots of pictures and updates while we were out. Would definitely let Heather watch our pup again.

Heather was AMAZING with my dog, Greta. She provided several updates throughout the day. They went to the beach, the forest, and three walks! I am going to keep Heather in mind for all future trips to North Lake Tahoe.

I own my home and we have a good sized yard. I have a doggie door that gives access from the house to the yard that I can leave open or closed, depending on your requests. I allow dogs in my car and on furniture, and I can provide a crate. We live 2.5 blocks from the beach and a 6-minute walk from Tahoe National Forest trails. We have a bike cart made specifically for dogs and love taking older dogs for rides. My husband is also willing to provide care for your dog and we make a great team. I have a fenced yard although, I will admit, it is not appropriate for dogs who are professional escape artists. Let’s meet up and address any needs, wishes, concerns, or questions!

I would like to know if your pet has been recently adopted (in the last five years). I would like to know if your pet has any injuries, allergies, or chronic pain. I would like to know if your pet has any behaviors that concern you. I cannot work with Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, or German Shepherds due to insurance restrictions, unfortunately.
A typical day
Hiking, swimming, walking, games, fetching, biking, boating, park play, napping, relaxing. We live 1/4 mile from Tahoe National Forest trails along a creek. We live 300 yards from the lake and Kings Beach state park. I love taking dogs in my car to different trails and water spots in the Tahoe area, if you will allow it.

Availability
I am available to accompany your fur baby day and night. I may leave your pet at home for no more than 1 hour a day on occasions when I might have to do errands or get groceries (once a week). Most of the time, though, we will be outdoors doing something together. I am available for all holidays, at this time. I can take two dogs per client but I do not book two dogs from different households. Thank you.
