Pet care experience
Hello! My husband and I have three children (ages 6, 10 and 13) and an akita mix (Ava) together in our home in Vadnias Heights. We have a large large fenced in yard for the dogs to run, play and explore. We are an active family and enjoy daily walks on the Centerville Road bike path. I work just 930 to 130 during the week on school days here in the White Bear school district. Ava is kenneled while I am away at work due to extreme separation anxiety. Therefor, if your pup happens to be with me on a work day, I would need a kennel. During the summer and holiday breaks, however, it would not be necessary. I try my best to work around your schedule to ensure my husband or myself are home at all times. Our family loves dogs and Ava LOVES to run, play and wrestle with dogs her size. I can gurantee your dog will get plenty of love and affection while staying with us! We walk the kids to school rain or shine every morning, unless it is too cold (walk#1), I take Ava for a 30 minute walk every afternoon (walk#2) and we walk to pick the kids up at the end of their school day (walk#3). If time permits we enjoy a short walk in the evening as well; only in the summer when it is still light out in the evening. During our summer and holiday breaks, we try to keep to our regular walk schedule. However, on hotter days, we tend to skip our walks. We have also seen that walks aren't typically needed when we have another dog staying with us. Between Ava and our family, dogs staying with us get plenty of exercise while playing in the yard. As I previously stated, Ava is kenneled while I am away, but other than that she roams freely around the house. We do allow pets on the furniture, Ava's favorite spot to be is the couch! Dogs in our care would be fed separately to avoid any possible altercations. Ava does guard her food dish when other dogs are present, so we are cautious. I decided to start watching other family dogs through Rover because I know how important it is to find someone that is a good match for your dog, as well as trustworthy. I know for us, having the few sitters we have met through Rover has been a life changer, as now we can take trips to see family and we know Ava is cared for and enjoying herself.

Heather and her family did a great job watching Maxi! She sent picture and text updates regularly, which we loved! She even sent Maxi home with a new tennis ball and sweet thank you note! Maxi came home exhausted and seemed to have an awesome time!
Heather was the absolute best sitter ever caring for our Golden Retriever Addie!!!!! She went way above and beyond in exceeding our expectations! We immediately felt at ease leaving our dog with her after our" Meet and Greet" and she attended to every detail in making Addie's stay comfortable and fun too! We received pictures and feedback throughout, and could see how happy Addie was with the kids and family. Our dog has some special requirements and has never been left with anyone outside of family and Heather attended to her every need. I would highly recommend Heather and we look forward to using her again!!!!!! Thank You!!!!
Our dog had an amazing time with Heather!

We can only host larger dogs over 40 pounds. Ava enjoys playing and often times scares the smaller dogs. When requesting, please let me know if your dog has any food aggression. Although Ava does not, we do have experience with it. Does your dog enjoy playing with other dogs? Does he/she walk well on a leash? Is he/she food/treat driven?
A typical day
We love to go for walks and explore the neighborhood! We also have a back yard that is all Ava's. We enjoy playing chase and catch, and we all enjoy a good game of tug of war!
