Pet care experience

My husband and I are two educators looking to use our love of animals to help out fellow pet owners from time to time. We have been fostering dogs for 3 years and have a welcoming pack of 3 dogs. We have tons of experience with dogs of all ages, temperaments, sizes, and needs. We’ve done everything from carry an 80 lb. foster dog up the steps because they didn’t know how yet, to letting 4 puppies crawl all over us and our dogs for the weekend. We keep our house pet and puppy friendly and have extra crates, pens, and door gates to keep new friends safe and comfortable if we are out for short periods of time. I am currently available part time on week nights and fully available on the weekends (schedule changes will be marked) for all needs- drop-ins, walks, doggy daycare, and sitting. I have attended training with my dog Finley and have crate trained, leash trained, house trained and taught basic commands to my other 2 dogs and to MANY foster dogs of all ages. I would love to work with you as a partner, reinforcing or teaching any skills you have begun or maintain with your pets. Or, if your pet is just in need of some company, I can handle that too! I am very comfortable with dogs Of all ages, sizes and breeds. I am constantly recognized by friends, families and co-volunteers as someone who has a knack for bonding with animals quickly.

if you have a dog and need any help with your best friend, Heather is the person your looking for. she is the kindest person I've every had the pleasure working with. My dog is about 12 years old and needs attention. Heather makes sure that Jessie gets her medications and exercise if it's throwing the ball or taking her on walks, Jessie seems to be a younger dog when she plays with her. It's a relief knowing that my best friend is in fabulous hands and care when I'm not able to be there, Thank you Thank you Heather

Rover is a perfect fit for someone like Heather! She has an almost 'Dog Whisperer' knack for animals and especially dogs. Dogs take to her immediately, even the shy or difficult dogs. Our dog, Gilly knows shes here even before she's in the driveway! Loves, loves, loves Heather! She has been my saving grace for much needed and often short notice getaways.

Heather is our go-to caregiver for our dog Rory for the past several years. We trust her to care for him like her own. He gets the attention and exercise he needs when she is caring for him. Rory has issues with anxiety and aggression and is taking medications, which Heather is always on top of administration. We know Rory is in great hands with Heather and highly recommend her for your dog’s needs too. Kindy

My experience with Heather has been great! She is so wonderful and trustworthy with our cat and dogs. Heather makes sure to get to know each of our animals, creating a safe space and making everyone very comfortable. She is very down to earth, has years of experience with animals and allows us to feel at peace when we have her with our family of fur babies.

Information Heather G. would like to know about your pet

We would like to know as much as possible about their personality and preferences. Such as- any type of dogs that they do not like being around, where they are comfortable sleeping, eating and playing. And, of course, we would have to know if they have any special needs, medical needs or fears or anxieties. No breed preferences.

A typical day

We love to take our dogs on walks around the neighborhood. If we know your pup and have built a relationship the dog parks could be a possibility too, as long as you are ok with it. Our dogs help themselves to the toy bucket and play and wrestle with each other. If your dog is not comfortable with playing with other dogs, we have plenty of space where we can play 1:1 indoors or play fetch in the yard.
