PAWsibly learn New Tricks

Pet care experience

I am American Red Cross Certified in Cat and Dog First Aid and CPR and the administrator and organizer of the Pensacola Small Breed Dogs Meetup and Facebook page. I actively look for, host and advertise Dog Friendly Events in the Pensacola, Destin and Mobile areas. Once I get settled in Waldorf I would like to start a similar page. I recently retired from active duty Navy and I need something to fill my days as I adjust to retired life. Because of my military training I can think quickly on my feet and know how to respond in a crisis. I have had my dog, River, for 6 years and I used Victoria Stilwell's method of training her. River also went through Petsmarts Basic and Advanced training twice; once with myself and once with my mother (more for my mother to learn Rivers' commands). Someday I hope to work towards getting her Canine Good Citizen Certification and Therapy Dog Certified when I retire in two years.

Heather was so nice to our baby. Her baby River was so sweet, also. During our trip, she sent us several pics and videos and provided daily updates. I would definitely recommend Heather for any pup owner who is apprehensive of leaving the pup behind for a trip. We will use her service again on our future trip!

Heather was beyond any expectation. My dog Lucas was treated like a member of the family, extremely well cared for. And when he was discovered with fleas, she eliminated them with skillful attention. I couldn't recommend anyone better than Heather to care for your dog while you're away! She's simply the best!

Little Lucy couldn’t be happier. Heather sent pictures and email every day, much more than could be expected. She walked and exercised Little every day. Heather only takes one small dog at a time and has one of her own as a companion. We will definitely call Heather as first choice when we need help again.

A typical day

If your dog boards with me they will: Enjoy daily visits to the dog park. Enjoy an occasional Sunday Brunch downtown at a dog friendly restaurant or attend dog friendly events around MD. Play Tug-of-War and Fetch in my apartment or enjoy a leisurely walk around the apartment complex. Receive a daily brain teaser treat ball after they've eaten their food for the day. Learn or refresh your dogs Basic Training - sit, stay, heel, wait, leave it, take it and watch me.
