I have known Heather Estlow for for about 20 years; I taught her children. Now, our roles are reversed. I have entrusted my furbabies to her! I could not ask for a more caring person to take car of my babies. Heather has a great love of animals of all kinds; even the mouse she rescued from a neighbor's house that now resides in a mouse palace in her house. If you are looking for ...

Loving, Certified, Pet Sitter

I have been pet sitting professionally, full time, since 2009. I have 7 of my own dogs, as well as cats. I have been active in Airedale Terrier rescue for almost 17 years. I am certified through the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and Professional United Pet Sitters, and am also certified in pet CPR and first aid. I can provide you with many great references. I love senior dogs, and have a lot ...

What Heather would like to know about your dog

I always have clients fill out a medical history on their dog, and ask if there are any medical or behavioral problems that I should be aware of. I have several special needs dogs of my own, so don't worry, I've seen it all before!
No, I have no breed preferences. I love all dogs.

When Heather watches your pet

On walks, unless the owner has a special set route that they want me to take, I like to follow the dog's lead and let them feel free to explore, roll in the grass if they want to, and sniff as many things as they would like. A dog's sense of smell is so sensitive that I feel it's important to allow them to take their surroundings in when they want, and when they aren't in the mood to sniff, we go for a nice walk at a comfortable pace.
If weather does not permit, or if the owner prefers, we will stay in and play in the yard, or house. If the dog is not feeling well, or is unable to play, we'll just snuggle up and spend some time together and enjoy each other's company.
With cats, some are more social than others. Some will come out to play, some who are shy, may just benefit from someone being there to check on them, feed them and scoop their litter .
No matter what your pet is, I always try to make them feel loved and at ease when you are not at home. I'm a true animal lover, so your pets are like family to me.
