Pet care experience

I’m a passionate animal advocate and have raised and owned animals my entire life. While the list includes bunnies, horses, sheep, pigs and goats - what you likely care about are cats and dogs! I always had multiple cats growing up and into adulthood. At this point however we are a 3 dog household (and have a foster cat as well). I’ve had dogs for 20 years and am knowledgeable about nutrition, exercise and health needs. I have spent over 10 years volunteering with a local animal rescue and have fostered both dogs and a cat. I have experience with a variety of breeds and can provide skilled care for special needs dogs including injections. I also have experience dealing with various behavioral issues including aggression. I’ve taken my own dogs to obedience classes as well as rally, agility and fly ball. I’ve nursed dogs through various surgeries and illnesses including amputation, IVDD and laminectomies, eye removal, kidney and liver disease, laryngeal paralysis, pancreatitis, IBD, osteosarcoma, seizures, and demodex. You can rest assured that your dog will be well cared for and that I can manage multiple medication schedules for multiple pets at one time with ease if needed. Regardless of whether you have a healthy high energy dog, a couch potato, or a highly specialized needs dog - I’ve cared for them all.

Heather is a fantastic dog sitter. My dog, Chase, has separation anxiety and does not eat his food when I am not around. Heather took the time to feed him small handfuls of food out of her hand. Whenever I need another sitter, I will definitely contact Heather!

Heather was great with my 4 kitties! This was the first time I left them to someone other than family and she made me feel at ease. My cats also felt comfortable with her, since as the week went on they started to show their true personalities with her. I will be using her again for future vacations.

Heather has done more than anyone I know to support dog rescue in our area, including providing a loving foster home to many. She also has many years' experience caring for her own adopted dogs, some of whom have considerable challenges. My own adoptees love her, and are always delighted to run into her. I can't imagine she would provide anything other than exemplary love and care to any dog entrusted to her.

Dogs will have the opportunity to go for walks or runs in their neighborhood or on a hike if allowed to ride in my car. Dog parks are a potential if the owner is a member of a local dog park. Ball playing, agility, frisbee, or swimming are all activities we can engage in based on the dog’s interests.
