I have had pet children for the last 15 years and it has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my life. I have years of experience with dog care including puppy training (especially potty training) and medication administration. In addition I have experience working with pets that are blind and/or partially blind. I also currently have two (2) cats, Ben and Finn, who were both feral cats that I rescued and have been best friends for the last 10 years. Charlotte, was a beautiful mix of boxer, lab, and pitbull (I know - lots of energy going on in this mix!) and as a puppy she was rescued from a kill shelter, leaving her with increible anxiety to overcome. As a 2-year old we learned she also had a very rare immune disorder cause her nails to be incredibly brittle and would break in a very painful way when she would run or play fast. At the age of 3, she lost her vision in one of her eyes within 24-hours due to a very rare disorder common in terriers. Working from home I was able to learn how to train a puppy, how to help with her anxious tendencies, care for her immune disorder, and help her adapt to losing her vision in one eye and prepare for losing it in her second eye. I poured as many years as she had available into loving her and giving her the best home possible, knowing that with all of her unique characteristics, not every family would have been able to adapt to these findings. She had the most beautiful life and was the happiest and sweetest girl. I have learned so much about dog care and love for our pets in general that I want to help families ensure that when they are unavailable, their pet(s) are loved, safe, and cared for in the best way.
