Cats Vote NO to Boarding!!!

Pet care experience

Animals are one of my greatest passions, and I can’t wait to make friends with yours. I am not a vet tech, but I am a doctor, and cats have much in common with humans. I am very comfortable giving medications to cats, and I can spot the difference between something wrong and someone mad. Pets are my passion, and pet sitting is what I do; spoiling, cuddling, playing, and maybe even caring for them when they are ill. I treat fur babies entrusted in my care exactly how I would want someone to treat my fur baby family, with possibly a little over-the-top attention to make up for your absence. My husband introduced me to the world of all things cat. I instantly fell in love with cats after he showed me how each has such a distinct personality. Our kitty family is the love of our life (besides each other :). Our little ones are quite spoiled with toys, things to scratch, and many things to climb, but they are spoiled the most with love. Every time I walk in through the door, my first fifteen minutes are spent on the floor petting, rubbing, and checking in with each of them about their day. I have done this with all my pets since I was 14. Caring for our pets is one of our top priorities in our home, just as taking care of your pet will be my top priority. They love us just as much as we love them, and we can tell because of their special bond with each of us. Besides having a perfectly happy cat family of my own, I understand immensely how nerve wracking it can be to leave your pets at home with a sitter. Before you are even to the car, you have convinced yourself that your pets aren’t going to be taken care of the way you would do it. Rest assured, if I get to meet and hangout with your kitty family, they will get the same love, attention, and play that I give to mine. If you leave me a list, which I oh so hope you do, it will be followed exactly. I will be there when you need me, and if there are special instructions, they will be followed. Multiple pets, playing fetch, going for walks, litter boxes, hairballs, abstract art....no problem. Whether they are a Box Inspector, Ninja, Negotiator, or a Stylist, we will be great friends. You can reach out to me as many times as you like during your time away. I also have quite the knack for teaching animals to do tricks very quickly. I once had to live in a studio apartment with 8 cats and work while construction was being done in my house...for 4 months! I planned out a schedule of daily activities to wear them out, like catnip party Wednesday, chase the string on a stick Friday, hairdo Monday, etc. And then.....a cat that I had fostered and adopted out came back. I found out he had been abused, significantly. I could take him back, or he was going to be put down. I renamed him Maximus, because he’s my little gladiator. When he came back, he looked like a furless chicken wing. There was a lot of crying, and then it was time to get busy. I had to syringe feed him Nutrical and kitty formula every 4 hours for three weeks, until he had enough strength to do it by himself. I had to put antibiotic cream on all the sores on him. This was while we were still in the studio! Talk about plates spinning. He’s fluffy and well fed today. And, all the cats were worn out on a daily basis. Sometimes, you just have to do what you have to do for them until you can get them someplace better. That tells you a little bit more about my love of animals. They mean something to me. Whether they are mine or someone else’s, they mean something, and ridiculous amounts of spoiling comes for free. :) I work from home and welcome the chance to visit your kitty. I am flexible on schedule. I would like it to be what’s perfect for you. Your pet will have a blast when I come to visit. We will eat, clean up, play, and have lots of petting and cuddling. I also bring enrichment activities for them for when I am gone. Whether you need just one visit or a set schedule of visits, we can make it work. I look forward to meeting your fur babies. In the past, I have bred, raised, and trained Dobermans. I’ve also had more than my share of rescue pets with all of the love and appreciation they bring. Animals are my passion, and I will come to your house, so your pets don’t have the stress of a new environment along with the anxiety of your absence. While I don’t take care of fur babies in my home, because of limited space and a cat who thinks he’s a king, I will always try to leave your home in a way that you can’t tell I was there. Your animals will be treated with the greatest care.

Our cats are always sooo happy to see Heather! We have a shy kitty (and a grumpy kitty) and they both love her.

Heather is the best. She loves our babies and they love her! Wish we could take her to our new location since we’re moving out of the area. Anyone who books Heather gets a bargain.

Heather is an awesome persons and cat sitter! My kitties fell in love with her and she took excellent care of them. My male cat is afraid of people. Heather was able to bring him out of the closet (by himself) and hang out with her and play. Thanks to Heather, I had a wonderful and relaxing trip knowing my babies were in great hands.

Heather really went above and beyond when it came to cat sitting - not only did she come armed with a bag of catnip and toys for Scritch, but she was incredibly responsive and communicative - even when she got into a car accident right before the first drop in visit, not only did she still make the visit with a freaking concussion, but she kept in touch via text the entire time I was out of town. She sent daily photos and videos and it was very clear from the videos that Scritch really bonded with her - he was initially shy, skittish and hiding during the meet and greet, and by the third visit he was all over Heather begging for pets and love! I had never left Scritch alone when going out of town so I was unbelievably nervous, especially given a bad cat sitting experience I had with a previous cat a couple years ago, but Heather is seriously an angel and I could not recommend her highly enough - next time I go out of town, I can’t imagine having anyone else watch my baby. So grateful!

Safety, trust & environment

I will care for your pets and your home like all are mine. Your pet's safety and care is my top priority, and your home will always be left the way it was when I arrived.

Information Heather C. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if your kitty has any particular fears, and how they do with strangers. I have several kitty clients who looked at me from under the bed for our first few visits, but that's okay. When they are ready, we'll meet.

A typical day

We'll play games and snuggle. Whatever we decide to do, the fun will be had by all. I also love animal training. It's so interactive, and having great pet parents come home to a new skill is fun. I have a cat that plays fetch and another that plays peek-a-boo sneak attack on Mom. From the basics, overcoming previous stresses, or just something fun and cute, I will try.
