Your Best Friend’s New Best Friend

Pet care experience

I am a compassionate animal lover of all furry things. I started by becoming a pet owner at a young age, which grew into a absolute love, and fulfilling bond, with all I meet. From feline to chickens I am intrigued by them all. After the loss of my beloved Tucker, I began fostering to fill the hole in my heart. I enjoyed feeling like their savior I suppose. They all came from our local kill shelter with no time left. Fostering is no easy task. These dogs, were mostly ones that were leaving on the street, with no real understanding of real love. Some were hyper, some were scared. All were different in there own way. At the end of their (2 week- month) stay with me, they held a special place in my heart! I am continually learning from them. I then changed staged in my life and became a stay at home mom. It’s hard transition to staying home all day long. I needed something I was passionate about, aside from my family, and I began to watch friends dogs when they were out of town for some extra cash. I do kennel. That being said, I give them 4 to 5 outings a day, each time allowing them to stretch their legs and go to the restroom. Often we are outside for hours. I have a garden, which I tend to daily. If I’m outside, and the weather is nice for the most part I will have the dog on a run or long leash somewhere in my vicinity. I have chickens as well. Most the time the chickens are put away in their run. Every animal is different, every dog is different. I read their demeanor and observe their behaviors and adjust to what I feel like they need, and will thrive well in my care.

Heather is incredible! She’s my go-to if I ever need to find someone to watch my two dogs. So far she’s watched them twice. The puppy loves her place and all the play time, and my senior dog only likes staying with Heather. They both have a great time there, and we know they are well taken care of. Heather has also been very flexible with short notice and weird scheduling, and we are so grateful!

We were traveling and needed a place for our dog for a day. Heather was very accommodating and we felt very confident leaving him in her care. We would definitely use Heather again if we are in the area.

Kid friendly? Plays well with others?

A typical day

Frisbee is a great go to I have to help them stretch their legs. If that doesn’t spark their attention, I’ll sit in the grass with them and get in on some belly rubs.
