Tail-Wagging Care

Pet care experience

Dog? Cat? Horse? No problem! I'd love to show your furry family what I like to call "tail-wagging care." As a lifelong animal lover I have been surround by furry family members since I was young. I'd like to tell you a little about myself so you can see why I believe I am the perfect care provider for your furry family members! After being honorably discharged from the Army in May 2010, I soon welcomed into my family the biggest furry member, an off-the-track thoroughbred, Shamrock Trick or "Sham (the Man)" as he is affectionately known around the house. Sham, along with his brother Louie (Australian Shepherd) and sister Taylor (German Shepherd), helped me welcome Kona aka Tokyo Chiller , my second off-the-track thoroughbred, into our family a few years later. Together the 5 of us traveled from Kentucky to Columbia, Maryland in 2015 to be closer to my family. As a horse owner/trainer and dog mom, I enjoy spend a lot of time outside! I have fine-tuned my frisbee throwing skills since Taylor will run from morning until night. In the seven years since leaving the Army; I returned to school to pursue a degree in Biology, began training my horses to show them on a professional level, and worked at a large dog-kennel capable of holding 75 dogs and 20 cats. Along with the experience my own furry family members have given me, the experience I gained while working in the kennel is invaluable to me and I bring that experience with me when I am in your home. So what does Tail-Wagging Care mean for your furry family member? - Personalized , loving, attentive care - Lots of cuddles, snuggles, and scratching - Fine attention to details - Daily updates and pictures of your furry family sent right to you! - Comfortable with multiple dogs at all times-- no matter the size!

Heather was wonderful and generously helped me out on short notice. Since we had not yet had a meet and greet, she came over in the afternoon to meet us and then returned later that evening to give my dog medicine and take him outside. She was extremely accommodating. Heather is experienced, friendly, and professional. I was very happy with her service.

Heather has been an animal person all of her life: dogs cats and horses too. She is extremely capable of perceiving animal temperament which enables her to connect and minimize stress to pets, big or small! I highly recommend her abilities and scope of experience.

Information Heather B. would like to know about your pet

While my dogs would probably stay at my house while I am caring for your animal, I would like to know if your dog is friendly and comfortable around other dogs. It is also important to know if your animals will require any medication administration at any time during the day, so that I can tailor my schedule to their needs. As a former Army medic, I am comfortable administering both oral and intravenous/intramuscular medication to your animals.

A typical day

I love hiking and being outdoors! Fetch and frisbee maybe?? Swimming in the creek?? If you are comfortable with it and we discuss beforehand your dogs are welcome to join myself and my furry family at my barn to run off some steam while I care for my horses.
