Experienced and Compassionate

Pet care experience

I’ve always loved dogs, and have fun working with them! I volunteered as a guide dog puppy sitter for about four years. During this time I helped to care for and provide basic training for puppies between the ages of 2 months old and 14 months. I also spent time working at the Kitsap Humane Society as an Animal Care Tech, where I helped to provide care for both cats and dogs at the shelter, including feeding and cleaning up after them. I have Veterinary Assitance training from the course I took. Dog's safety and health is very important to me. I have the knowledge for first aid treatment and pet CPR and Heimlich. I love dogs of all sizes and breeds and really enjoy getting to know the different quarks of every new dog I get to meet. I had an Australian Sheperd/Brittany mix when I was little, and while I was in High School I had a Pit Bull/Lab mix, who was full of boundless energy, so I know how to keep up with high energy dogs! I also have experience with cats and kittens. My family ended up helping to raise two litters of kittens, all whom we found loving homes for. One of these kittens I helped care for had Cerebral Hypoplasia, which meant his Cerebral Cortex was underdeveloped, affecting his motor skills. He had a hard time getting around because of how uncoordinated he was, but hardly let this get in the way. He helped provide me with a lot of experience taking care of animals with special needs. I also am comfortable working with horses and have spent six years working around them. Making sure dogs are happy and healthy is very important to me, and I strive to never put a dog in a situation that makes them uncomfortable. I also care about trying to really provide for each individual pet's needs, by understanding from the owner what their dog’s needs are, and what their daily routine is.

Hazee did really well with Poppie. She was very attentive to Poppie’s needs, and both Poppie and myself loved her! Highly recommended.

Hazee watched our two dogs for eight days (one dog requiring night time medication). We set up three visits per day with approx times we wanted her to stop by. She did a great job updating us with pictures and general info. Dogs looked very happy when we got home. We definitely will be contacting her again!

Hazee watched my two Wheaten Terriers, Mel and Posey overnight while we were out of town and did an excellent job! The dogs were well cared for and my house was spotless when I returned. We would definitely use Hazee again!

Hazee is an amazing dog sitter. She has watched both my dog and my sister’s dog multiple times at my house while we were on vacation. It is obvious by her interactions with the dogs that they adore her. She is a true dog lover and treats them like family. When Hazee is watching the dogs, it helps us relax knowing that they are being well taken care of. I highly recommend Hazee and would have her watch my dogs again in a heartbeat.

Information Hazee M. would like to know about your pet

What is the dog uncertain or afraid of so I can avoid putting the dog in an uncomfortable situation. Any allergies or medical conditions? Favorite treat? What kind of activities is the dog really a fan of? What kind of games do you and your pet have?

A typical day

Wherever the dog wants to lead me that day (within reason, safety first of course)! I love letting the dog take some of the lead and allow them to sniff all the new smells and explore their area. If a dog is down for a game of fetch, or even keep-the-ball I’m happy to play with them. I know dogs can have seemingly endless energy, and I like to try and keep up with them, give us both an oppertunity to work out a bit.
