I’ve been around dogs my whole life starting as early as 9 years old when I would volunteer to walk dogs at the local shelter with my dad. I got my first dog in my early 20s and took care of him until he passed away when he was 10 years old a couple of years ago. It inspired me to get back into volunteering so I went to a local rescue in Vegas (I just moved here last summer) and I began walking and fostering dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I fostered over 10 dogs with all kinds of needs. Most of the dogs were strays who had never been in a house or around people so they needed a lot of TLC and love 💕 . I spent a lot of time leash training them, teaching them how to use stairs, tricks like sit and shake. That’s how I ended up with my rescue pup, Ollie! We made the move to Washington and I recently started volunteering at Seattle Humane where I went through training and I walk dogs of all sizes. My rescue pup has dog reactivity issues so I have been working with a dog trainer on relieving the problem. I believe my experience with dogs at two different rescue shelters and my own dog would be beneficial to anyone who has the same problem! I’m also very open to anyone who needs me to watch their cat :)
