I don’t know why but I’ve always had a deep connection with animals. I have this weird ability where I can diffuse a dog’s skittish anxiety with my presence, so I’m not intimidated by the size or demeanor of any dog I encounter, they’re all still the same class of animal as far as I’m concerned. I had a medium-sized Cocker Spaniel of my own named Shadow, I rescued him from a trailer home when he was a puppy and I was in 6th grade, he practically was my son...had a lot of insightful life experiences with that dog! I got an email about this job offer and thought it works perfectly for my schedule as I work at MUSC and I’m looking for a second source of income.
