I defintiely care and sacrifice more for my animals than I do for almost anyone else in my life. Since I was a little boy (about 2) I have always been interacting, raising, living or simply helping out with animals (mostly cats and dogs, but horses, birds and reptiles as well). My grandmother always had at least two dogs and I myself had two growing up (Dachshund and Cairn terrier). All four of my aunts have cats that I have taken care of numerous times (two of these cats have had severe cancer so I am experienced in taking care of sick animals that are in need of frequent care and attention and medical treatment).
