Experienced, reliable petsitter in Stoke Newington

Pet care experience

Hello, My name's Harry, I'm 31 and I live in Stoke Newington (have lived here my whole life!). I’m mad about dogs and love spending time with them whether it's walking, sitting, or my favourite - playing fetch :D. Unfortunately I don't have much space or money for a dog of my own just yet but in the meantime I’d be over the moon to spend some time taking care of yours. And you can rest assured that he/she is in safe hands - I have lots of experience with pets, my family having owned several dogs in the past (ranging from big English bull terriers to little Maltese terriers!), and I regularly board a Miniature Schnauzer and a puppy Jackapoo who my partner and I adore. I'm working from home full-time from Jan 2023 so I won't be available for walks or drop-ins on those days, however daycare and boarding is available pretty much 24/7. I live with my partner who also works from home, so there's usually two of us here to share caring duties (she's a dog lover too!) - of course we are both more than happy to 'meet and greet' beforehand. I recently sat for a week with a gorgeous old Staffie called Winston, who has bundles of energy for a 13-year-old and is a fellow fetch aficionado, as well as a stick-and-ball demolitions expert. Since sitting for him I've decided I'd quite like to do this more often, and if your dog loves fetch then I'm definitely your man! I can throw sticks and balls till the cows come home :D. I also boarded my mum’s Maltese terrier for a few months not so long ago, so I’d be happy to consider boarding a dog (or cat) of a similar size (possibly two). Thank you for considering me, I look forward to meeting you :) Extra note: discount automatically applied for stays of 5 nights or more, happy to negotiate a further discount for stays of 10 nights or more. Also happy to offer a discounted rate for repeat bookings :)

What a lovely 3 days our doggy had with Harry. He is an anxious little boy but took to Harry right away. Harry took the time to get to know and understand Koda before his stay and this really payed off. Harry kept us updated and sent photos which was lovely to receive. Koda has been very settled since getting home. We will definitely book Harry again and we would recommend him to other doggy parents looking for a sitter. Thank you Harry.

It’s the second time we leave our little Tate with Harry. Harry is always very quick reply to our messages and constantly send updates, Tate seems to miss him when we get him back so I’m sure he is having an amazing time.

Information Harry H. would like to know about your pet

It's useful to know if your dog is territorial, as some dogs can be a bit disturbed by my neighbours coming in and out - if so I can make sure to keep them in a separate room away from the main door if I hear them coming! Also useful to know if they are friendly with other dogs, as well as the obvious such as feeding and walking schedule and what their general temperament is. Another useful thing to know is whether your dog can be left alone for short periods - we try not to make a habit of leaving them alone for long as it doesn't seem fair, but on the odd occasion we might both need to pop out for an hour or two so it's good to know that this won't cause too much distress!

A typical day

I'm (relatively) young and energetic, so if you have a high-energy dog then he/she can look forward to a great deal of play and exercise. I love taking dogs to any of the big local parks such as Clissold or Abney Park where they can be let loose and stretch their legs. Equally though I'm just as happy to go for a casual stroll if your dog is more senior or not quite as energetic, so it's a win-win for me.

As mentioned above I am working from home full-time since Jan 2023, therefore I am around most of the time for plenty of walks, playing, cuddling, you name it! On the odd occasion when I'm not here my partner is usually available and is equally capable and adoring of dogs, so they are very rarely left without company :)
