Hi I'm Rounie! I love dogs, cats and really all animals I've happen to run across thus far in my life. I'm here as a sitter because, as a proud dad to a Shih-Tzu puppy, I realize that our lives are complicated and a dog (or child) further complicates it. My love for animals propels me to want to help others uncomplicate their lives by providing sitting, walking and drop in services to my clientele. I volunteered at the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley, MN for approximately 1.5 years as a dog walker. I had experience walking 3 month old puppies to extremely shy dogs to dogs that have insane amounts of energy to 200 pound (no kidding) Pitbulls! Just recently I added a new family member in the form of a Shih-Tzu. His name is Moose. His arrival has allowed me to learn how to train dogs for basic tricks (sit, down, shake, roll over) and develop patience in teaching things such as potty training. Adopting a puppy into the family has been a huge chore as they require much more stimulation and attention than an adult dog which translates very well when meeting new dogs. I would like to know about WHO the dog is. What is his/her temperament? What does he/she like? What training has the dog gone through? What training does this dog like? Does your dog get along with other dogs?
A typical day
I am a big fan of socialization since I have a small breed dog. I think it is pivotal to keeping dogs friendly and a beneficial part of social society. I've worked from home full time since 2016 and can give your pet the attention they need. I do require that you bring a kennel for your dog, however. Especially in a stressful situation, like being in a new person's home away from their parent, separation anxiety can get the best of dogs. While I'm out of the home I do kennel my own dog for both our sanity. Training: If your dog will be with me for two weeks or more I'm happy to work on training your dog for specific commands if I have the time. I've got quite a bit of experience training both professionally, with my dogs and with friends' dogs. If you're interested in dedicated training time please speak with me and I'm happy to work on a set training schedule with your dog for a nominal fee.
