Ok, on the plus side, our pets were alive when we returned home, which is a pretty low bar but not entirely unsatisfactory. Now for the not so good: We hired Harmony to care for our dog and two cats for 6 nights. We requested a pet sitter that could stay in the house overnight since we have an elderly dog that has trouble with incontinence if left alone for too long. We specified that she would have to be let out in the middle of the night if she requested it (which she does by barking or jumping around). We made sure she had a nice room to stay in overnight and asked for daily updates. During our trip, we received very few updates from Harmony and most of them were on request from us. She gave us very little information, which made us a little uneasy but we figured she was trustworthy based on our initial interview and we hoped for the best. Upon returning home, we found a filthy floor, where the dog had peed and pooped several times, like she had been left alone for a long time. The litter box for the cats was filthy as well. We checked the bedroom and there was no sign of Harmony sleeping there or staying overnight as was agreed upon. Our dog appeared to be anxious and had trouble differentiating peeing outside as opposed to inside, something she never does. We attribute this to the probability that she was not being taken outside enough, which proved confusing and stressful to her given her advanced age. It appears that Harmony only came to the house once a day and did the bare minimum for our pets. I texted Harmony and asked her if she understood that we meant for her to stay with our pets overnight. This was 5 days ago and we still haven't received an answer from her. To say we're disappointed is putting it mildly. We trusted Rover and Harmony, we paid before leaving, and we put our pets' safety in their hands. I feel like Rover cannot be trusted to list responsible people on their site and I recommend against hiring Harmony as a pet sitter. She conned us and we want to make this review public so no other pet owners have to deal with the same difficulties we experienced.

Harmony is one of the biggest dog lovers I know! She always greets dogs we see in public and is great at connecting with the pets. She is the first person I think of when I need someone to watch my Maltese. I trust her because I know she genuinely cares for animals and wants to take care of them and show them love. She treats every pet she comes across as if they are her own. I do not trust my little pup with just anyone, and I feel confident in passing on this praise.
