Part-time Dogsitter in NYC.

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Hannah and I'm a visual artist from New York. I'm currently on the border of Queens and Long Island but I have a car and can easily commute to the city to petsit or bring dogs to my house for boarding. It might not sound as convenient to be further if you're in the city, but I find that especially for holidays or longer stays it's an ideal situation since I do have a big backyard for dogs to run around in. I've even brought home dogs from Harlem! In the past I have done many house/petsitting jobs, often taking them to my house when owners were away for the holidays. I have taken care of the most anxious to the most laid back dogs, so I am more than confident that I can help owners with whatever accommodation their pet needs. I also have experience taking care of cats as well. Although they might seem like less maintenance than dogs, I still feel that they require lots of love and attention. I have worked for Wag and Rover in the past but mostly did walks/petsitting for neighbors or clients off the app once I was familiar with them. I've taken a break from petsitting for a while but now have some free time and would love to offer my services again! Please answer these questions when requesting to book: -What is your dog's feeding/walking schedule like? -Are they very excited/anxious or mostly calm? -If I go to the store are they ok on their own or will they bark a lot and make a mess? -Are they house trained? Will they ask to go to the bathroom if they feel the need when we're inside or do they go without warning? -Will you be providing a crate or bed for your pet's stay? Also feel free to contact my email hannlei.wo(at)gmail(dot)com since my notifications don't always come through on here.

Hannah was fantastic! She was very accommodating for pick up and drop off times, and provided updates with how my dog was doing over the weekend stay.

Safety, trust & environment

If I am boarding, I only take on pets from one owner at a time. If there's ever a chance where I get two requests at once (which has happened) I will always ask the owners beforehand if that is ok with them. If it's my first time watching someone's dog I'll keep them on the leash in case there are other dogs around since I'm unsure of how they'll react. I like to review all the instructions and if anything comes up I'll communicate with the owner if I have any questions, (whether it be food, medication, allergies, etc.)

Information Hannah W. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your pets have any special needs or medication that needs to be administered. Also, I like to know if your pet has any behavioral issues. I have dealt with animals that are more aggressive or anxious in the past so it's nice to know what I can do to make your pets more at ease.

A typical day

I love to take dogs to the park since they're usually so social. If allowed, I'll bring them to a dog park to run around with other dogs but I also think it's fun to see what routes the dog I'm watching does/doesn't like to take. I have gotten dogs that never want to go home and others that only like to take two steps before going inside, so I like to get a feel of how the dog normally acts. If they have a lot of toys I also like to either bring them to the park or play with them back home.
