My first dog I ever had belonged to an elderly woman across the street when I was 8 years old. Every day I would go over first thing in the morning just to hang out with her and her dog. One day she told me and my family that she would be moving to Florida and asked if we would like to take the dog and it was a no brainer. For the 7 years that we had him he was my best friend in the whole world. He even was my co-worker when I helped out at a dog wash for one summer!
