Dog-loving student w/ open schedule

Pet care experience

Caring for your dogs will be as much fun for me as it is for them! I am a grad student at Villanova, so during the summer I have a lot of availability for walks, check ins, boarding, day care… in other words, during the summer I can prioritize your requests and shape my schedule around your needs! During the semester, I usually go to campus a few days a week for a few hours at a time. Most of my work is done independently as research, so that can be done at your home, my home,… just about anywhere! It is way more fun to study while I have a furry friend to hang out with, and walking / caring for your pets is a great break from my work! I would be delighted to schedule a meet and greet with you and your pup — or kitty! :) I moved from Florida up to Philadelphia in August of 2021 to begin my graduate program— and this meant no longer living with my family dog! I do not have a pet of my own, but being around animals brings so much lightness and joy to my life. Providing animal care services through Rover helps me get that “pet time”, which brings a smile to my face. I hope to care for your pet sometime! I have had pet dogs my whole life, and know how to care for all friends — old and young, big or small. Before I began using Rover, I have taken care of dogs and cats while people are on vacation, out of town for work, etc. I hope you take interest in my services and I look forward to taking care of your furry friend!

Absolutely wonderful host--the best of the best. Norman can be a tricky dog and Hannha has been great with her. Highly recommended, and we'll book with her again.

A perfectly wonderful experience hosting our dog with Hannah. We're easing our dog into the world of Rover, asking hosts to go above and beyond the norm to be patient with her (and us!), and Hannah has been awesome. We look forward to booking again and again.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Hannah. Our otherwise lovely dog hasn't always been the most best Rover guest, so Hannah spent time above and beyond the stay getting to know her before she spent the night. Both human and dog really appreciated that. We're on the way to booking again.

Hannah stayed in our home overnight with our anxious pup. She was patient with him, able to give him his meds, and communicative with us. We will definitely use her again!

I live in an apartment building that has a small fenced-in outdoor dog park. In addition, I live near some parks in West Philly that are pleasant to walk to! In my home, I like to give pets the time to get acquainted with the space and then give them positive reinforcement to show that they can be safe and comfortable in a new environment (pets, approved treats, playing with toys). In your home I’d take a similar approach, except in this case I’d ensure that my presence is not imposing or intimidating to your pet in their comfort zone! I have experience with puppies and senior dogs, and everything in between! I am comfortable providing oral medication and all other general care for your furry friend!

Information Hannah S. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if there is any way I can accommodate for your pet’s special needs, provided they need extra care. If there are certain things to be wary of when taking your dog(s) on walks (like squirrels, other dogs, etc), I’d like to be made aware!

A typical day

I enjoy taking walks to the nearby parks in my neighborhood, which are all about a 10-15 minute walk from my apartment. I would love to bring some furry friends along with me! There is also a dog park just outside of my apartment that we could have fun in as well!

Availability

As a graduate student, my schedule is open and completely up to my discretion during the summer. Except for a few minor commitments (like weekly meetups with my friends or small trips / events during the summer), my schedule is completely open! During the academic year I can (and do!) still make time to attend to your requests. I enjoy taking a break from the rigor of academic work to spend time caring for animals. As of Spring 2023: I have classes Mon-Wed. Mondays I am busy from about 12-5, Tuesdays 12-5, with a full day on Wednesdays 12-9. If you have any questions about my schedule, feel free to ask! I’d be happy to work with you to see if my schedule can be compatible with your needs :)
