Lifelong Dog Lover by Meridian Hill
Pet care experience
I am a lifelong dog lover living just across the street from Meridian Hill Park. In my early years, my family owned a host of different dogs, who were all members of the family. Most of them were larger breeds (Labradors, Newfoundlands, Rottweilers) but we also had a few Yorkies and Poodles in the mix, so I am comfortable with dogs of all shapes and sizes. As an adult, I pet sit for friends and volunteer with shelters whenever possible. Now, I am thrilled to watch and walk even more canine friends through Rover! Boarding: I live in a pet-friendly studio apartment in downtown DC and my work schedule is 9:00-5:30 Monday through Friday. I go into the office most days, so my schedule is usually better for weekend rather than weekday sitting, unless your pet is comfortable waiting until I return from work, or you live close enough to Farragut Square for a lunchtime walk. In some circumstances, I may also be able to work remotely to facilitate a better pet sitting experience! This can certainly be discussed. Walking: In general, I am available for dog walking nights and weekends. It is important to me that I get my steps in each day, and I can't think of a better way to do that than bringing a dog along! What you can expect: When I dogsit, a dog's happiness and health are my top priorities. I pride myself on providing dogs with the level of attention and care that they need, and am happy to reinforce any behaviors that you are currently working on in your home. Owners of pets that I have watched in the past have been pleased to receive daily photo and video updates featuring fun activities around town and at home. I am happy to provide as much communication as you need to feel comfortable and to ensure your dog has a good experience. For any questions, please ask!

Hannah is a wonderful sitter, and I'd gladly have her watch Lucy again. Lucy struggles with separation anxiety and is very energetic, which Hannah handled extremely well by taking her on plenty of walks and providing plenty of play time. She was incredibly accommodating and set up a time for a "meet and greet" to give Lucy some familiarity with her apartment ahead of time. Hannah also was extremely flexible in setting up a drop-off time. Highly recommend!
Hannah was so kind and patient with Bruno. He had so much fun with her during his adventures to the dog park and the long walks in the city. Hannah even washed is little dog bed, when he made a mess with his frozen treat. I was especially grateful for the updates and cute pictures.
Hannah has cared for my pup, Ruffy, on multiple occasions. She is great with my dog, very attentive and caring. She is amazing at updates - pictures and texts- as a nervous nelly about leaving my my dog, this was reassuring. Ruffy is always excited to spend time with her, it is clear that is well cared for when with Hannah. Hannah genuinely loves animals and it shows.
Hannah watched our terrier-chow-schnauzer mix (interesting combo, but she's adorable!), Winnie, for several days and we could not have found a better person for the job! Winnie was not the easiest dog -- not quite a year old then and still very nervous as we had only rescued her a month or so before -- but Hannah got through to her very quickly, judging by the cute photo updates we got regularly of them snuggling! Hannah even managed to help Winnie get over her fear of being on the couch (with our permission!), which we hadn't been able to convince her to do. It was a big relief to have someone so responsible, communicative, and just great with dogs watching Winnie so we could trust that she was well fed, walked, and loved. I can't recommend Hannah highly enough!

My apartment building sadly does not allow the usual DC prohibited breeds, as much as I might want them to. I therefore can't host them at my apartment, but I am happy to walk or dogsit these breeds at your own home!
A typical day
I am just across the street from Meridian Hill Park and a within a 10 minute walk to the Dupont Circle Dog Park. I love taking dogs on long walks or to the park! Tug of war and fetch are some of my favorite activities
