Back in 2015, my roommates got a puppy (Garry Potter) that I helped them raise. I absolutely fell in love with dogs all over as if I were 5 years old again (but just a little more responsible). I also worked at a coffee shop at the time, and suddenly I found myself as the go-to dog walker and sitter for regular customers after my shifts. Eventually, I got on Rover too to expand my client base. I always like to hear from each client about their preferences for their dog, specific needs and personalities. I'm flexible, whether you prefer trips to the dog park vs. walks, playing fetch in the yard, or even if you prefer for them to just get some fresh air and sniff all they want for more mental stimulation. It's important to me to honor the specific commands and walking etiquette you use with your dog to remain consistent, and to discuss whether your dog has aggressive or anxious tendencies/behaviors that I can be mindful of. I now work a full time job, but I have flexibility to adjust my schedule as needed for dog walks and dog-sitting. I have joked often since covid slowed down requests for dog-walking that I feel incredibly dog-deprived (also, very understandable and important thing we had to do! I will always wear a mask and social-distance when I meet you:). I genuinely just love spending time with dogs and mostly am on Rover to do that! I work in Community Mental Health, and the extra money I save from Rover will go towards my savings account for grad school (and my own mental health, let's be honest).
