Pet care experience

I have been around animals my entire life and currently have a small dog who is extremely comfortable around other people and pets. My family, friends, and neighbors have relied on me for their pet sitting needs, so I have had a great deal of experience with various breeds, temperaments, and ages. I understand that every pet requires different care, so I like to work around you and your pet’s needs (walking, bathing, brushing, feeding--food/medicine, playing, transportation, etc.).

Hannah was wonderful! And took such good care of my cat. Will definitely be asking her to watch my cat again!

Hannah is an incredibly capable dog walker and dog sitter. She has walked my dog countless times, and has watched him several times when I’ve been out of town for a few days. My dog looks forward to his time with Hannah and always comes back to me even happier than before. Hannah is very responsible, and I fully trust her with my dog, who is one of the most important things in my life. I have referred Hannah to several friends for dog sitting, and they have had the same positive experience. Hannah has a special place for animals in her heart and I could not recommend her more highly of a caregiver for your furry friend.

Safety, trust & environment

I am available for both day/overnight pet care at either my home (day time) or yours (day and/or night). I live in a safe and walkable neighborhood and have easy access to multiple dog parks and walking paths. I also have access to a private, fenced in backyard if your pet prefers a less social environment. I am experienced with overnight pet sitting as well and am happy to take your pet out at night if needed.

Information Hannah H. would like to know about your pet

Before meeting with your pet for the first time, I like to take the time to learn about your pet and ensure that I am prepared and informed about your pets’ needs so that I can provide the best personalized care for your fur baby. Some of the things I like to ask questions is about their health /medical needs, personality traits, mealtimes and snacking schedule, exercise and playing, grooming, sleeping habits, etc. I have listed some examples of specific questions below for your review. If there are any other specific details you would like to chat about regarding your pet, I would be more than happy to discuss those as well! Health/Medical • Does your pet have any current/past health conditions? • Does your pet take any medications/supplements? • What is their vet’s contact information in case of an emergency? • Does your pet travel well in a car? • What is your pet’s bathroom schedule/habits? • Does your pet suffer from anxiety? If so, what are their triggers? • Has your pet been treated for fleas/ticks? Personality • What are some of your pet’s general personality traits? • Does your pet get along with other animals? • Does your pet get along with children? • Is your pet currently in any general/obedience training? If so, are there things I can do to follow their training program? Exercise • What is your dog’s typical walking/exercise schedule? —distance, number of times per day? • Can your dog ever be left off the lead? If so, what are the limitations? • What are some of your local/routine walks? • Where do you keep your dog’s leash/collar/harness/poop bags? • What are your pet’s favorite toys/play time activities? Grooming • Does your dog require grooming? If so, are there any specific requirements/instructions? • What is your dog’s bathing routine/instructions? Sleeping Schedule • Where does your pet sleep? • What is their sleeping schedule? • Are there any areas off limits to them? —furniture, beds, etc.

A typical day

As your dog’s sitter, my goal is to leave your pup happy and healthy after every visit. Since every dog is unique and special, I find it helpful to discuss what your fur baby enjoys so that I can curate the activities to their needs. This can include playing fetch, going on walks (long or short), visiting the dog park, belly rubs, assisting with training, interacting with other dog friends, etc. My favorite thing about pet sitting is getting to explore the city with a furry friend. A lot of the dogs I currently watch are very energetic and require multiple long walks throughout the day where we stop to play at the various parks, beaches, pet stores, or doggy play dates. One of my favorite spots to go is the Crissy Field Promenade Trail. The path is flat and quiet which is great for dogs of any age/energy level. I have spent lots of time at dog parks throughout the city and have made friends with other dog owners/sitters and their pups who frequent there. If your pup enjoys playing with other dogs, I am more than happy to incorporate this while on our walk. I have a large SUV (Buick Enclave), that I am happy to use to being your dog to any appointments, play dates, etc. I recently have been attending puppy play dates with other friends/pet sitters in the city. We often meet at Washington Square Park in North Beach where all the dogs can run and play with familiar friends. If you have any questions for me or would like to chat about your dog’s needs/interests, I would be happy to schedule some time to chat!

I work as a remote, part-time marketing manager which allows me to work from any location and on my own schedule. I have plenty of free time and flexibility during the week and can work around your pets schedule/needs. I am able to take pups out throughout the day/night and am comfortable and experienced with walking dogs in the city. I have access to a safe, reliable car, so I can take your pet to their favorite parks and appointments (vet, grooming, play dates, etc.). I am available 7 days a week for both day/overnight pet care.
