TLC for Pets & For Peace of Mind!

Pet care experience

Tentatively taking clients starting March 1st! Hey there, I’m a recent college grad with a degree in Animal Science who loves all kinds of animals, big and small! I work as a veterinary assistant taking care of a variety of animals, and I will take great care of your fur babies and love on them as if they were my own. A few fun facts: I used to volunteer at my local zoo! I also have a lot of experience working with exotic birds and horses too:) My schedule is pretty flexible, so whether you need someone to drop by and check in on your fur kids or take them out on a walk or to the dog park, I’m your gal! Animals are one of my very greatest passions; I was ecstatic when Snickers, our Beagle and my first dog, came home with us 12 years ago. Zoë, a 13 year old Shih Zhu/Bichon Frise mix, came along a few years later. Unfortunately, Zoë has since passed on, but Snickers is still with us - he’s pretty lazy and spoiled back at home! My top priority when caring for your animals is making sure that they get all the TLC that they can while you’re away at work, school, or on vacation. Your pet’s well-being is my highest priority. I am just as comfortable around a Great Dane as I am around a Chihuahua! Shoot me a message and let’s work something out!

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet(s) will have a great time hanging out with me as I make sure to design activity according to what your pet prefers best! I’m extremely vigilant with your pet’s safety as well; it’s my top priority.

Information Hannah C. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences here, every dog is loved by me! I do admit that I have a soft spot for the gentle giants, though! :) Before I dogsit/walk your fur baby, I like to arrange an in-person visit with you and your pup if possible. Meeting up before dog sitting/dog walking is beneficial for all parties involved in a multitude of ways (particularly for nervous/anxious pets). First of all, meeting up allows me to ask you more in-depth questions about your dog, including certain quirks, personal preferences, any food/toy aggression, favorite treats, medical history, any fears/anxieties your dog may experience, et cetera. This helps me to get to know your pet a bit and gives me more information to accommodate them and make them comfortable as possible. The second reason I recommend meeting in person is so your dog can get to know me and vice versa; while this may be more applicable for long-term visits, it is helpful in any situation. House visits and dogsitting in particular have the potential to be very confusing and stressful for your pet, especially for anxious dogs as noted; instead of being greeted by their owner, they are greeted by a stranger. Meeting up allows your dog to become more familiar and more comfortable with me, and it also gives me the opportunity to do the same as well as showing me how you normally interact with your dog in a neutral, relaxed setting. Additionally, I am also able to observe your dog in person and potentially fine-tune my own personal behavior (tone and pitch of voice, etc.) based on your dog's reactions to certain stimuli. For example, some dogs prefer to be pet and LOVE to cuddle while others are more aloof. Additionally, some dogs are very sensitive to higher volumes of sound, which is a need-to-know fact. Another example: some dogs respond to certain situations with a fight instinct, while others rely on their flight instinct. All of this is important information for me to know in order to make sure your dog has the best possible experience with me. Lastly, I believe that meeting you and your pup in person is beneficial because it allows you to get to know more about me and ask me any additional questions you may have, whether it be about my animal care background or my favorite thing about dogs (by the way, it's the unconditional love they provide :) ) These three reasons are why I recommend meeting up before I dogsit/walk your dog. If you would like to do this, please let me know and we can set up a meeting! Thank you for reading, and I look forward to meeting you and your pup!

A typical day

I’m happy to do whatever when I watch your pup! Some of it depends on his/her personality; for example, many herding dog breeds tend to require more exercise in addition to lots of mental stimulation, as they tend to be very active. It is also important for you to communicate to me what you usually do with your dog for fun. In any case, I aim to tailor activities and outings to each individual dog, whether your pup is a couch potato who likes to cuddle, he/she is full of energy and loves to socialize, or anywhere in between. Provided you are able to provide a doggy seatbelt for your pup and they are comfortable in the car, I am more than happy to be a doggy chauffeur! An example of some general activities could include hanging out at the park, hiking some local trails, and chilling at a dog-friendly restaurant! We can even go for drive-thru puppaccinos (depending on your dog's dietary needs)!
