Animal lover w/ pet care experience

Pet care experience

In regards to my experience: not only have I been rescuing animals since I was a child, I then went on to work in and manage a pet care/boarding facility. I have experience with strict feeding schedules, administering medications, reacting quickly and calmly in emergency situations (e.g. prompt inhaler administration during asthma attack), routine walks, play time etc. But I feel that my genuine love for animals is what really sets me apart - I treat them all as if they were my own, and because of that I have the best relationships with all animals I come across.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Hannah. She showed such patience and care with my dog Brie, and is clearly an expert at handling dogs of all temperaments. I’m so glad to have found her and would recommend her to anyone.

Hannah is an excellent caregiver! She’s very flexible and understanding, especially during times of emergency when I need a babysitter for my cat ASAP. She follows all the notes I’ve prepared for her whether it be feeding times, correct portions, what toys I’d like her to play with and items to give during sleep time for ultimate comfort. With an amazing caregiver such as Hannah, you do NOT need to worry one bit that your child isn’t being properly taken care of. She even sends me daily pictures during sleep and playtime! I am thankful to have found someone I can trust without having to worry one bit.

Safety, trust & environment

It can be difficult to trust a stranger around your pets. I understand that because I treat mine like my family. I have a profound love of animals, and I don’t think I have ever met a pet I didn’t get along with, so rest assured - even the most timid of pets I have ended up winning over. Another important thing is safety; and that comes in even the little things like keeping a pop out bowl and bottled water when we go on walks, especially for dogs that just need a break sometimes (like seniors) - Knowing how to maintain control of interactions between dogs, and what indicators to look for when they are not getting along - I also have no problem confidently letting people know if the dog I am walking is friendly or not with other dogs, and not to approach if so. All of these things are vital to ensuring the safety of your pet while in my care.

Information Hannah C. would like to know about your pet

Does your dog tend to pull on leash? How do you handle any potential undesired behavior with your dog (such as jumping on strangers)? How do you reward good behavior? Are there any allergies I need to be made aware of? Is your dog friendly with other dogs? Do they have a history of reactivity or dog aggression? Are they timid with people, or maybe specifically children? Are they reactive toward things like birds, squirrels, or cars? Any possible triggers, really. Do you have any specific guidelines to follow in case of emergency? Are they usually inclined to try to eat things they shouldn’t be?

A typical day

A typical day would start off with anything that needs done before our walk - like feeding, filling water bowls or administering any vitamins or medications. Then we’d head outside for our walk, and/or playing with toys to ensure they get their exercise for the day, and get home nice and tuckered out while they wait for you to get back so we can really avoid the anxious feelings that can come from a high energy pup waiting for their parents to get back!

As far as scheduling, I am currently dedicating majority of my time to pet care. I work from home, as I own an e-commerce crystal shop - so the only time I’m not home is when I’m making a short run to the post office to drop off orders!
