I have been a cat owner for 10 years. I grew up in a household of animals (my mother is a science teacher) and cats were the only animal I wasn't allowed to have because she was allergic. Instead, I volunteered at the Humane Society in Portland, Oregon from ages 7-12 to spend as much time with them as I could and then immediately adopted one when I moved out. I also have a lot of experience with pets and was a nanny for kids before I started pet sitting. But I am definitely a cat person. If if you have a cat that doesn't like anyone, the likelihood is that we will get along. I have a friend with two cats, one of whom will not let anyone get near her. She always circles my ankles and rubs her face on my hands when we watch the two of them. My own cat is similar, and has very bad PTSD from her last home and I've spent the last three years helping her get over that trauma. I love sketchy cats, loud cats, floofen cats, cats that need grooming help, and cats that maybe steal your neighbors stuff. I understand that cats need to stay at home, which is why I travel (via bus). I look forward to meeting you and your feline.
