I got my first dog when I was 10 years old... and the rest is history. I grew up in Nashville where I was able to walk and house sit for friends and neighbors' pets for many years. I just couldn't get enough, so I then worked professionally at a dog boarding facility for 4 years while I was in high school and college. It was there that I met and cared for every breed of dog and cat imaginable. I learned how to care for dogs with special needs, reactive behaviors, and administer a variety of medications. My husband and I adopted our current dog, Oswald, from Nashville, then moved here to Asheville. With my previous work experience and current dog, I have experience with handling reactive dogs, strong dogs, and escape artists, so you can rest assured that your pup will stay safe with me. Oswald is now 12 years old and requires oral and eye medications, which I manage daily -- and would have no issue administering any meds that your pup needs. I used to work full time in (human!) orthopedics, so I am equipped to handle medical needs, and I am also aware of behaviors to look out for that could cause a trip to the vet. I currently lead an active lifestyle and love hiking, soccer, and adventures. I'm also a crazy dog mom who loves receiving pictures of my dog when I'm away (believe me, I totally understand the anxiety of leaving your pup!), so I will be sure to let you know how much fun I had with your pup at my visits.
