Pet care experience
I am an animal lover by nature, and a naturalist and zoologist by training. As a small business owner, I’m self-employed in part through my services on Rover where I devote dedicated time to my business and clients. Just as I have for many others, I will care for your pets as if they are my own and update you along the way! Animals have always been a vital part of my life. I grew up caring for animals including horses, cats, dogs, a snake, a salamander, and fish. Today, I have two adopted shelter cats, Leo del Rio 🐈 and Salem Moon 🐈⬛ Over the years, I've pet sat for folks who were away at work or out of town and preferred to hire a trustworthy, reliable person to care for their pets rather than kennel them. I also worked at a wildlife rehabilitation center where I cared for and rehabilitated injured and orphaned wild animals. Until my move to WA, I volunteered weekly at an animal shelter and farm in CO where I took care of dogs, cats, horses, goats, and chickens in need of care and attention. I’m honest and reliable, professional and friendly, a good communicator, and can read dog and cat body language and respect their space. I do not pet sit for aggressive or unpredictable dogs that have a history of biting. What is helpful for me to know? 1) Does your pet get along with dogs, cats, children, and adults? 2) Do they have any triggers that could make them nervous or aggressive? 3) Does you pet have any medical issues I should be aware of? 4) Does your pet experience separation anxiety? What can I do to alleviate their anxiety? 5) Is your pet house and crate trained? 6) What kinds of activities do they like to do?
A typical day
When I am with your kitties, often there's nothing better than a good grooming or cuddling session and some active play time with their toys. Feeding, watering, and cleaning the litter box are standard procedure. For dogs, I can take them on walks in your neighborhood or play with them in your yard. I try to be outdoors whenever I can with them! I'll play fetch or other doggy games, and offer lots of ear scratches and belly rubs.

Availability
~ NEW CLIENTS: We will schedule a quick meet and greet before our first booking, so I can meet you and your animals and see where everything is. It ensures a good experience for all. ~ DROP-IN VISITS: I can drop in on your pets 1-2 times per day. I will follow your instructions closely and ensure that your home and pets are happy and safe while you’re gone. Ask me to water your plants! ~ DOG-WALKING (CURRENTLY INACTIVE): I'll walk your dogs in your own neighborhood and, for their own safety, will not let them off leash unless in your yard. Occasionally I bring training treats to encourage positive behavior when they're with me and around others.
