Dog & Cat Obsessed!

Pet care experience

I love dogs and cats...young and old, big and small, energetic or relaxed! I grew up with a dog for 13 wonderful years... a beautiful black lab named Jessie! I loved taking care of her... feeding her, taking her out for potty breaks/walks, cuddling with/talking to her during my after-school snack break before homework, playing catch with her outside until she became tired and at that point, she would tear the tennis ball to shreds. After passing away from cancer in 2013, I really missed having that constant warm love and affection that dogs and cats give you. Besides my personal dog experience, I would help take care of neighbors and friends dogs and/or cats by going over to their house to feed and take them out for potty breaks, walks, and play time while the owner was out of town. I’ve also had quite a few Rover house sitting, drop-in, and walk experiences. Loved them all! I am a college graduate and hold a BA in Human Service Studies. I would love to take care of your best friends and promise that I will treat your dog(s) and/or cat(s) with the utmost love, kindness, and care!

Safety, trust & environment

A safe environment is crucial! Steps that I take to create that include: ensuring the dog is leashed before going outside, unless there is a fenced yard that the client has approved us to go in. Listening to the client's requests and fully understanding the dog's personality. Asking important questions such as "how does the pet interact with other people or pets?". Providing the right amount of food, plenty of water, and administering any prescribed medications.

Information Haley B. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences! However, if possible, I would like to know the breed ahead of time and their (body) size (small, medium, large, etc.). Also, I would love to know what kind of dog they are... energetic and playful, relaxed and sleepy, or a mixture of both! Also, any special instructions (food, medication, rules) regarding the dog(s) would be super helpful to know ahead of time! All of this information will prepare me to care for the dog in the best ways I know how!

A typical day

I only have the owner's best interests at heart! Whatever they are comfortable with is what I will do. However, I would love to take the dog(s) out to a local hiking/walking trail, (dog) park, or just take a walk around the neighborhood a few times! Exercise for a dog is extremely important so play time is crucial! Together, we will play catch with a ball or frisbee! And when it comes to rest time, I will be right there next to them!
