Your Dog's Second Best Friend

Pet care experience

*FULLY VACCINATED AS OF MAY 10 2021 Hi everyone! I'm a Canadian animal lover who works from home as the co-founder of a music events space. After taking a break from dog care during the pandemic, I am now back and fully vaccinated. I have walked, visited, sat, and boarded dogs in every NYC borough since moving here in 2017. I currently live in Crown Heights / Bed-Stuy but can bike anywhere, and love to take dogs on long walks, runs, or even hikes in the Hudson Valley (for the right dog). Because I have a high-energy Jack Russell Terrier with my family back home, I am used to and love active dogs and/or small dogs I can take everywhere with me! In the winter, I constantly dry-bake sweet potatoes for natural and healthy dog treats. I have built a reputation on Rover to respond quickly to all requests and messages, and am known to send frequent updates to my clients. I also like to take impromptu and totally candid photoshoots of your dogs on my DSLR camera, the products of which I'll send to you for free. When I'm not working, I volunteer with Korean K9 Rescue and have vast experience with rescue / flight-risk dogs. I walk dogs using whatever harness and collar they (and you) are accustomed to. I typically attach to a running leash to provide me additional strength and control (so that even in the worst case that I were to let go or be pulled off of a leash, I still have the dog tethered to my waist). I am moderately skilled in dog training and can work with your dog to train for better walking and at-home behavior. Before joining, I was trained in dog care by my uncle, a professional dog trainer (based in Northern California), have volunteered at New England wolf sanctuaries, and have a high-energy Jack Russell back at my family home in Canada.

Hailey was great all around! We left our two cats with her over the holidays and she was super communicative and thorough. Would definitely recommend her!

Information Hailey S. would like to know about your pet

I like to know about what a dog is used to--how many walks per day and for how long/over what terrain, what kind of food and how much, crate or no crate, social or scared, etc. The worst thing I can do is totally disrupt a dog's routine or put him/her in a position that might scare them. I have no breed preferences, but know more about medium/large and active small breeds so I tend to do best with them.

A typical day

I am also most familiar with the following parks: Manhattan: Central, Riverside, Morningside, Madison Square, Tompkins Square Brooklyn: Prospect, Brower Some of my favorite Hudson hikes include: -Breakneck Ridge (advanced climbing dogs only!) -Old Croton Aqueduct -Harriman State Park -Anthony's Nose
