Hello, I'm Hailey! I am a 27-year-old graduate with my MA at UCSC, with a very open/flexible schedule. I love animals, and have been around them since I was a small child. I have personal experience from raising animals within my family with dogs, cats and birds. Growing up my family had two very active dogs (both rescued mixes). I was one of the primary trainers and caregivers, and also have given medication to the dogs and cats. I have also watched the pets of many family friends (including dogs, cats, birds, fish and reptiles). I believe that each animal has their own unique personality, and should be treated with proper care and respect; I'm excited to get to know the special animal I'd be working with! :)

Hailey wake my pup three times a week! He loves her and it makes me happy knowing he’s well cared for while I am at work!
Hailey has been so great! She has watched my little pup for the weekend and walks him three times a week. She is thoughtful and considerate and always sends lots of photos. My dog loves her and I always know he is in good hands with her! I would highly recommend her as both a dog walker and sitter!!

Hailey was wonderful! She came over to our apartment for a meet-and-greet with our dog, who can be a little reactive on walks. She bonded with him immediately and listened to all of my instructions and warnings about his fear of other dogs, large trucks, etc. We were going away for a period of time, so some of the time she took him for longer walks and some of the time she took him out briefly and then snuggled with him on the couch and gave him attention. We appreciated all of the updates. When we returned he was calmer than usual after we're gone, which means he felt happy and taken care of. I highly recommend Hailey!

I'd like to know the age and breed, whether or not they are trained, and how they get along with other dogs. I also like knowing the owner's feelings about rules and system of communication with their dog(s).
A typical day
I generally enjoy going to parks, both city and state. If I'm walking from my starting destination I will generally stick to suburban streets and local parks. Las Palmas park is a favorite of one of the dogs I have watched on several occasions; she loves a good roll around in the grass and playing keep away in the attached dog park. If a dog is comfortable with going on a drive then I'll take them somewhere like Shoreline or Castle Rock. When hanging out at home I'm always down to get snuggly on the couch or the floor or play tug-of-war and/or catch in the backyard. :)
