Pet care experience
My family has had dogs my whole life and I have grown up learning how to take care of them. I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was younger, so I was always the one taking care of the pets. I learned how to give my aunt's diabetic dog his insulin shots and my older dog her oral medications. I have a dog of my own that I adopted seven years ago, a terrier -Chihuahua mix named George. I have recently changed jobs, so I have plenty of time during the day and will be able to give your dog the care and attention they deserve. I absolutely love all animals, and what could be better than getting paid to hang out with dogs all day?

I will start from the beginning... my husband and I were in a pinch with needing some dog care for our two labs. We'd never used rover.com but with days before our trip, we reluctantly decided to take a chance on it. Gwen responded very quickly and was super friendly, so we decided to ask her to take care of our babes. She very kindly agreed, and even to a very last minute meet and greet. She even moved around her weekend plans to accommodate us. Fast forward to our return, we walked in to our place looking as if no one ever stayed. After brief excitement of our return, our doggies passed out. We are fully confident that Gwen did a great job taking care of our kiddos. While we were skeptical to use an in-house dog sitting service with someone we didn't know, we'd gladly use Gwen again, and will recommend her to others. Thank you Gwen!! xoxo, Adam + Laura
Animals are always drawn to Gwen. She seems to have a special way with them even if they are skittish or unusually cautious around people. She really loves dogs and makes friends with every dog she comes across. She is very responsible about taking care of the dogs in her care and has a way of understanding what they need. I would recommend her as a caregiver for any dog, regardless of the breed or temperament.

When I am caring for dogs in client's homes, I let the dog tell me what they want. I try to stick as close I can to whatever routine I am given for them and keep them as happy as possible.

I like to know if there are any sore spots your pet may have (in case of belly rubs) and any specific noises/actions that will set them off. If I know you have an escape artist, I can take every precaution.
A typical day
In the summer, I love to just hang out outside with the dogs. In the winter, it's all about puppy snuggles. Being raised in the PNW, I'm no stranger to rainy day walks.

I work in the evenings a few days a week and from home the rest of the time. My schedule is extremely flexible, so I am able to give all my attention to your pup.
