I've been a dog and bird owner my entire life. All my dogs have been rescued from either shelters or even those I have found lost in the street. I was a volunteer at an animal shelter/adoption agency and I am very good with dogs, cats, and birds. I currently own an 8 year old, extremely passive and loving Jack Russel terrier and a mixed breed that I found lost on the side of the road in a snowstorm. She had infected paws, ear mites, and matted fur. Plus she had no tags nor was she chipped. The vet said she was approx 12 years old and probably wouldn't live for more than 6 months. Plus she was going blind at the time. That was over FOUR years ago. She's since gong completely blind and deaf but she gets along swimmingly in our home and with our JRT who always looks out for her. Sadie my parrot was also a rescue. She was in a empty basement room with nothing more than a single light bulb and she screeched constantly according to her then owner. So he locked her away because of the noise. He gladly gave her to me. It took me over a year and I lost chunks of skin to get her to even step up on my finger. That was over 7 years ago. Now she sits on my shoulder when I work on the computer and coos in my ear as she falls asleep. Not to bring Religion into this but my patron Saint is St. Francis of Assisi who looks over animals. I love all animals and have pet sat for many friends and family in the past and still to this day. I would be happy to meet and talk with anyone interested in hiring me to care of their fur baby
