Welcome to Cooperland!

Pet care experience

I've been taking care of dogs for friends and neighbors longer than we've had the internet, and we added Cooper to our family shortly after moving to Chapel Hill. He's a good boy, and loves to play with other dogs, so we're excited about making our property available to new friends. I work from home, so I'll be on the property with your dog. I take a walk around the yard about once an hour, so my brief moment of Zen usually involves throwing a ball or frisbee. It's not unusual however, for my 10 minute break to last over 30 minutes, so I consider myself to be lucky in that regard. Dogs stay outside during the day, with a gallon of fresh water at all times. They're crated indoors at night, and they're also brought inside during thunder, lightning, or temperatures that are outside the limits of a dogs' tolerance.

I boarded my dog Louie with Gregg for 12 days, and both myself and Louie could not have been happier with the experience. Louie had a great time, and Gregg was a fantastic communicator and sent pictures and updates every day. I highly recommend Gregg for daycare or boarding!

As a first timer, we were nervous to board our dog, but Gregg eased our concern immediately. Gregg and his family took such good care of our three year old cavapoo, sending photos over the weekend with the most descriptive and caring reports that I could have asked for. We recommend Gregg wholeheartedly!

Appreciate Gregg’s attitude and helpfulness. Totally recommend. Scout loves her home away from home.

Information Gregg B. would like to know about your pet

Cooper is up to date on all of his vaccinations, and has never been sick. For his sake, and the welfare of our guests, please regard all booking requests as an acknowledgement that your dog(s) have up to date vaccination records; including the Bordetella vaccine against kennel cough. Based on advise from our veterinarian, we unfortunately cannot accept booking requests for pit bull terriers, or other types of fighting breeds.

A typical day

Cooperland is ruffly a half acre of fenced land on a 2.7 acre rural property with plenty of shade from oak, magnolia, pine, maple, and of course, dogwood trees. The dogs go outside after 8am, and are back inside by 8pm. Our guests typically do a lot of sniffing & exploring, and Cooper is always happy to tag along. When it's time for a break, the dogs usually lie under the shade of an oak tree or near the front fence to get some sun. My daughter and I invented some safe and fun games for the dogs that are appropriate for their physical abilities. We have the most fun with other high energy dogs, but we can also entertain the little and older ones as well. If you need to leave your dog behind for a while, we offer a safe and fun place for them to have a nice doggy-vacation of their own.
